This video goes out to Abhay Saini and the question is: "Do we have any functions in Tableau prep to calculate the financial quarter/year/month? In India, we have our financial year starting from 1st April 2020-31st March 2021, and this is considered as FY21."
Interesting question. If you work in Finance this question will inevitably come up. Tableau has an amazingly easy built in function that will let you control this.

Great tip Jed. Thank you. I have one question I would like to start the Fiscal Week number from 1/3/2021 not from 1/1/2021 as it is middle of the week. Week1 1/3/201 1/4/2021 1/5/2021 1/6/2021 1/7/2021 1/8/2021 1/9/2021 How can i do this?

Hey Jed, great tip here. I have always changed the FY by using the date dimension. I didn't know you could change it at the data set level. My question to you is, if you change it at the data set level, can I then assume it changes it for all of the dates in your data?

Hey Michelle, I'd expect so simply from a visualization point of view. When I think of it as a physical representation I don't know Tableau would be able to split the data clearly enough on an axes

Nice tip Jed. However I have a small doubt when we calculate current (Financial Year is April to March) quarter till date data the we need to use Today() function but when we use today() function for current quarter data It's automatically falls into default Quarter not in financial quarter. Is there any possibility to work around that.

@@jellymaneducation6168 Thank you very much for your response. My financial starts with (April-March) Actually I am calculating Current Quarter Till date value. For getting till date value we need to use Today() function. When I use Today() function it's automatically falls in default Financial calendar (Jan-Dec). I have small doubt on other query. I am calculating CQTD value and showing that value on weekly trend chart. How we can show every quarter weeks numbers. (Q1 week 1,wee2,....Week 12) (Q2 week 1, week 2,...... week 12) Can you help on that ?
