Hello sir, may I know where and when we will use this Tableau migration? What is the purpose of this? And do a Tableau Desktop developer will own the responsibilities
Thankyou for watching the video Mersha and thankyou for suggestion. Detailed Video on LOD you can get here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BPe3FJsceRg.html
Both are possible scenarios based on budget. If all within one server then seggregation Wil be done by 📁 folders else you will have separate server links to login to each env.
I have access to only dev server every time my reports will publish to prod environment by onsite product owners here They suggested me to move all dev reports to prod environment pls can you help me
hey actually i learned alot from you and I just given an interview for saama technogy and cleared technical round I am sharing interview question here can you please make a video like how to give an answer to interviewer to build impression like just wanted to say I want focus on body language, answering tact, in what way have to tell answer . 1)itroduction? 2)projects? 3)what types of filters. 4)order of filter 5)data bleanding and relationship difference. 5.1) what is * sign in data blending why it's come and how to remove it. scenario based question 6)two dimesions customer id order date find the customers who have order in 2014 two ways in set go to conditin then by formula year(order date)=2014 ===in and out manner result 1st solution second solution {fixed [customerid]: attr(orderdate)} 7)find first orderdate of each customer {fixed [customerid]:min[orderdate])} 8)joins table1 table2 1 1 2 1 3 2 5 4 null null inner = 1 1 1 1 2 2 left= 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 null 5 null null null right 1 1 1 1 2 2 4 null null null full 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 null 5 null null null null 4 null null (table2) 9)find the employee with second highest salary select name from (select name,salary,dens_rank() over(order by salary desc) as rn) where rn=2; 10)find total revenue year wise select year sum(sales) from customers group by year; hope you will consider my reply and thanks for everything.
Hi bro, One query Do we need test documents for sanity testing in all environments or only test case documents for dev environments is sufficient while performing sanity testing ?
Little bit confuse, aren't local machine and DEV environment (Tableau Desktop) same. Please clarify it. My understanding from this video are as follows: 1) connecting data stored in any RDBMS to Tableau Desktop ( 1st step of migration of data to Dev environment), where dashboard or report been developed. 2) then we validate our data in our report by checking those numbers in RDBMS where data is stored. 3) Now you mentioned to download those reports or dashboard and data to local machine but I believed the Tableau Desktop is itself a local machine so no need to download. 4) Now migrate those reports and data to QA environment where reports get validated by QA team. 5) Once reports validated, QA team will migrate it back to our DEV environment ( for me it is Tableau Desktop) and hence it is getting published. 6) I am bit confused between local machine and DEV environment. Please clarify it.
Hi @Rabin, thanks for summarising. Below how we do it Develop in local machine 👉publish to Dev Server 👉 Testing in Dev with Dev DB👉 Download 👉connect to QA👉 publish it to QA Server 👉 Testing in QA with QA DB👉 Download 👉 connect to Prod 👉 Publish it to Prod Server. Hope this helps.
@@TechiRahul thanks, one more ambiguity from my side. You mentioned publish to Dev server and publish to Prod Server. For me Prod server is Tableau server or Tableau online. But what is Dev server and how it is different than Tableau desktop of local machine? Thanks
Hi @Rabin, First step 👉is you create your report in your Tableau Desktop that is available only to you until you publish to some server. Dev, QA and prod are different servers First during your development stage you publish only to Dev Server where mostly only Development team wil have access to the reports. Once Development is complete you test and move it to QA where QA team will also have access to your reports. Then to Prod. All r different servers. I Hope this helps.
