You know what to say, when to say, and then you edit it together. It wouldn't be really that exciting, as she would be reading a script nonsensically half the time, and then you would look at a guy putting together clips in premiere the other half of the time
“Have you ever tried writing a 3000 word document on your tablet, or working on an excel spread sheet, or working on a really important video project on a tablet?” Yes, yes I have. But both was painful either way.
Maybe one has like travelling 2 hours daily. Laptops like surface pro can be very practical, if desk available use it as laptop. If im standing those 2 hours i can use it as tablet and read technical documents on it. Or catch up with product review vids (vlc works great with touch, also document viewers).
tecialist who? Unless you're referring to some beginner-RU-vidrs (who record their videos with their phones lol), I've never heard or seen anyone actually do that
Phone and computer: exist Inventor: we need something in between... I got it! A tablet. The people will love this and everything will be complete The people: we need something in between a tablet and a computer Inventor: ._.
I have tried using an iPad Pro 10.5 as my main computer for school, but it just doesn't cut it. My Retina MacBook Pro 13" which in benchmarks is actually less powerful than my iPad, yet I am able to do much more due to macOS. There are a lot of great applications for iOS, but they are arguably watered-down versions of the desktop counterparts. File management is essential for productivity and iOS just isn't good at it due to its restrictive nature. You really have to go all out Apple in terms of products and services to make an iPad Pro your main computer. But if you are not a student nor a person who requires a laptop or desktop outside work, you'd honestly be better of with an iPad. For everyone else, a traditional "computer" is still where its at.
And the Surface Pro 7 bridges the gap between these two. It's a tablet, with a great keyboard and built-in kickstand, and it runs Windows 10--that now has an absolutely phenomenal tablet interface that keeps the familiar desktop and Start menu. Edit: I love how that producer had a Surface Pro 7 at the end and commented on the fact it bridges the gap between a tablet and a laptop.
One of the major key points many people forget to mention when comparing the two (or iPad vs tablet/laptop thing cuz I forgot the name) is that the iPad is made for your fingers as in it works great even without the need the need of a keyboard (with one it would enhance it) but with the tablet/laptop thing you are sort of forced to use it mostly as a laptop because the software isn’t as focused on the actual touch part. You could use an iPad without a keyboard perfectly fine but it’s really hard to use the tablet/laptop without a keyboard.
Exactly i much prefer tablet because it feels so natural i write and it types for me touch is how we interact with the world i have an iPad and don't use a keyboard because I prefer touch and have learned to type fast on glass when scribble can read my terrible handwriting
There is no VS. And I don't care about branding. A full OS will always be better against a mobile OS. Be it games, professional work or even internet. Now, if your only use is youtube and social media and you dont care about "mobile pages" on the internet then OK you can prefer a tablet. For every other use, laptop wins.
The huge problem for me to switch to tablets completely is the fact that you cannot open multiple files from same app like two words documents at the same time (you got the idea). If OS X will be able to do that. I definitely switch to.
This should have been a comparison between the Surface Pro (a tablet) vs the Surface Laptop. Comparing Apple tablet (which is more about entertainment, drawing, some video editing, and games) to a PC of any kind (which is more about productivity, documents, video editing drawing, and some games) does NOT work. The two OS serve two completely different types of users.
Yes! I want to see a comparison of the Surface Go VS the Surface Pro really. And that’s who is going to cut in on Apple’s former dominance in the design industry especially. An iPad Pro with a dinky selection of software (they just got ONLY Photoshop) VS having an array of sizes and price points in Surface’s full Windows OS with the ability to run all the Adobe Creative Suite and the detachable keyboard, pen, touch screen....is very intriguing. It’s starting to tempt me back to considering Windows to be honest. Though I do wish Apple would offer some competition to it being the industry is still very much in Apple mode plus iMessage doesn’t connect to Windows. Guess we will see. I do see a lot of designers having multiple devices though and picking up devices like the Go (shown at the end briefly) because of the ability to use all the apps on the fly as inspiration strikes (and lets face it, breaking or losing a $350-500 tablet hybrid VS a $2,500+ professional level Apple laptop well... yeah you can see why one would not want to travel around as much with it.)
Like they said, it isnt about the brand, they are just comparing the most popular in the market at the time. The average tablet lover prefers the ipad and the average laptop lover prefers the surface, thats just how it happened to be at the time. --notice how i say "most popular" rather than "the best", thats bc I am not an expert in any of this--
For viewing-only purposes the tablet/iPad lines (+/- Pro) works just fine. Anything involving editing, tablet/iPad is a no no. BUUUT there's Microsoft Surface, so that's the perfect hybrid.
Except you can switch to full Windows anytime? Even if all PCs came with Windows 10 S, no one will care since people who use apps outside the MS Store can switch. But those who want simple, fast and secure computing while having some professional apps can stay on Windows 10 S.
I watched this when it first came out because I was hoping a new iPad would help me replace my headache of a Windows laptop. Bought one and have been enjoying it til this day. The only thing is, I still need my laptop to organize my iTunes which is a pain because it’s slow as hell. I do not want to spend even more money on getting a Macbook just for that.If only this iPad could have its on iTunes library and store terabytes of memory I’d say to hell with laptops completely, but that’s only because I don’t do too much office work anymore.
After using pc for 20 years I switched to Apple. My first iPhone ever and first MacBook. And I love it. My MacBook Pro and iPad and iPhone all sync effortlessly. So fantastic! Trying to download photos from my Samsung phone to my Acer laptop was a big headache.
Happily on iPad Pro only since iOS 11. Totally love it and don’t miss windows or Mac. Writing 3009 word essays, using excel spreadsheets or editing large video projects is no problem at all.
I really like this kind of "duo" videos. I can always find some interesting points to think about. Oh, also Lauren is a joy to watch every time. Both of her.
I was also confused, but I moved with a laptop. I had a laptop before, but it was old and slow, and I was searching for a new device, but now I am of the opinion that I made a good choice. I will suggest to other people that they should go with a laptop because currently, tablets don't have that much power to replace full-time laptops.
I was thinking of buying the galaxy tab s7, should i? does it work well like a laptop with, powerpoint, word, light games, zoom and all types of daily school work? 🖤
Im not trying to hate or anything, i can just tell that u r an apple fan, generally speaking, at least Samsung knows what they're doing, and they're less expensive, it baffles me how many people like apple when Samsung is here
I myself use an iPad Pro as my everyday computer. It's a 2015 12.9-inch model and it still handles bigger tasks with great ease and at pretty fast speeds. Would only borrow my sister's MacBook Pro for video editing or professional digital design. For creating and editing websites right on their servers I use Textastic. For creating and editing vector images I use Autodesk's Graphic. For interior design and floor planning I use Planner 5D. For web code inspection I use HttpFlow. For converting image files, including raster images into vectors I use Image Convert. For downloading svg format files, audio files and others from the web I use Aloha. For editing the date and time of images from the Photos app I use Metadata Pro. For word processing I use Pages. For creating and editing slide presentations I use Keynote. For all accounts I use Calculator Pro which works great in split view or slide over, occupying 1/3 of the screen. For watching movies and TV shows I use Netflix. And I'm still yet to try Shapr3D for creating and editing professional 3D CAD projects. By the way, most of this apps also have an iPhone version. A lot of them full-featured, some not. I hope both Apple and third party developers work fast towards releasing mobile versions of their desktop apps, just like Affinity did with Affinity Photo. Looking forward for a full-featured iMovie just like on the Mac. Final Cut Pro would obviously be great for video editing on the iPad but I’m not counting on it for the near future. It would also be great work if Sketch creators released a mobile version of their professional digital design app, even thought Affinity Designer is coming soon. When that happens I believe I won't ever feel the need to use a desktop operating system again.
3:07 in the middle is blurs out which means there is two sides of the room which are connected to be like one room so that means they are not different people!
Laptop: Gaming Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other typing work Powerful OS (Unless it’s an ipad on the other end, ipads have strong OS) Tablet: Lighter and slimmer, easy to carry. Photo, Video related work.
I have a laptop that runs on windows 10 that I upgraded last year. And the laptop I have is super slow and really hate updating it constantly. I am way happier with my ipad air because of how easier it is to take it on the go than a laptop.
I can’t wait until tablets and laptops are fully merged together. So you would have a phone, a tabtop (or a better name), and a desktop PC for gaming and other graphic-intensive tasks. And we’re getting pretty close to that.
I have an iPad air and thought I can get away with just this after buying a bluetooth keyboard. But there’s a ton of limited actions with apps and accessories. The software updates make it slow too. And I’m approaching 4 years with this thing and the forums say an ipad air’s lifespan is 3-4 years ughhh I really want a laptop.
This is how I use it. Mobile: The simple everyday device. stuff like taking pictures. Quick calls or just some games if I’m bored. Laptop: it’s for school or some work that I have to bring around with. I do gaming on my laptop since it’s a gaming laptop. Desktop: where I do my serous work where i requires software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and so on.
I tried to use my iPad for a computer replacement. But not there yet. Still need a computer for my daily drivers. BTW, iPad is amazing when taking notes during lecture time and study. We remember more when writing rather than typing.
"Not many laptops have a stylus"... what? Almost every single portable Windows laptop with a moderately decent processor for at least the past 6 months has had 2-in-1 functionality AND digital pen support. Many of them also come with one in the box. In the end though Lauren has the right idea. Surface Pro is where it's at.
A computer is a machine that can be instructed to carry out sequences of arithmetic or logical operations automatically via computer programming. Modern computers have the ability to follow generalized sets of operations, called programs. These programs enable computers to perform an extremely wide range of tasks.
I have an iPad Air 2 and a MacBook Air each of which I use for different task on different occasions. Using my iPad is great at the university, it feels like using an actual book or a paper notebook with the ability to look up information on the Internet. But when it comes to write something serious, like a project or to make a presentation or to keep my entire photo and music collection I go for my MacBook which is a lot better at this. I thought of replacing both of them with a Surface (which is REALLY hard to get in my area) but I thought I’d be lacking in easiness and “seamlessness” of the tablet and stability and overall built of the laptop so I’d better go for a minimum configuration of an iPad Pro (to buy a keyboard and a Pencil but a little bit later) and a MacBook Pro so I’d be in BOTH of the worlds without compromising
Computers are I/O machines that perform a set of instructions on data (stored in memory) to produce output, while allowing for some level of user-input. According to Von Neumann anyhow - x86 is the prime example (followed by ARM and other modern Arch)...
I've got a Samsung E tablet and I'm super happy with it. Good battery life, practicality... And yes, I can do a lot of document management on it. Right now, a tablet is all I need in my life.
Mark Tristan R. Ocampo I have the two in one. Wish the surface pro Was bigger instead of just 10 inch screen or 12 inch screen and I am not into the surface book I just got the iPad Pro and I am loving the size it’s perfect for productivity
I have an iPad Pro and tbh it works well for college while I’m taking notes doing minimum research, but I tried to use Microsoft word on it and it really lack some features that a computer offers more extensively, I was typing a document I wasn’t able to change some headers and footer the way I want it, the mouse it is really needed to do some highlights and cut stuff or editing, touching it with my finger made me highlight other words and it was very hard to do. So in my opinion ipad is good for taking notes or do things that you do on your phone, but for type document without making a mistake I rather use a computer.
I think it’s important to have a laptop or a computer for most professional or detailed work. But for me and my work the best option is an 128Gb iPad 6th generation with cellular data and a not too expensive laptop at least that’s the combo that’s working for me. But I used way more my iPad. It helps at work and with personal stuff.
i think the point is that no one is saying you can't do things on an ipad, you can just do many of the same tasks faster and with far more precision on a PC (once you get things set up to suit your workflow as well). The fact that PCs are getting incredibly light and powerful all around is just an added bonus but I believe a laptop from 2011 could go toe to to with an iPad pro in terms of what you can accomplish when you take the time to set up your workflow. You don't have to fight or even think about the accuracy of a traditional keyboard, multi-tasking is also something you don't have to think about, file management also a no brainer. The only thing I see iPads & tablets taking the cake in is how quickly you can get started due to their being only one or two ways to get things like apps, so everything is streamlined. However the depth of those apps is just not there. They are great for people whose business is to monitor things, or do basic computing tasks of the 90's like email management & word processing, but you won't be able to out develop a laptop user creating a video game (which is like combining every task a "computer" can do) anytime soon. Gotta always keep a real desktop/laptop if you are really serious about your work, if you are extremely casual about it, just need to 'check & watch things', primarily edit text, filter photos, or don't need to do much work at all then go with a tablet. Me personally I just got a new 'modern' laptop last month and now my phone & iPad just accumulate notifications as theres nothing I can see myself using them for anymore for anything other than browsing photos. My brain just flows so much more effortlessly. My photos come out 10x better running them through photoshop than 4 image editing apps... I'm not interesting in chatting using those devices or using mobile versions of twitter or facebook either, and obviously from here I can develop my wordrpess website & work on music, and creating videos. The biggest separator for a long time has honestly been the screen quality, but I have discovered modern laptop have the same great screen quality & this is just incredible to experience the 'classic' tech in this way, people just stopped buying them though (and alot haven't even discovered how incredibly powerful and convenient the latest laptops are) because most people ARE casual users and don't need laptops. I WISH I was the last person in the world with a laptop/desktop and everyone else only had ipads and phones, I truly believe I would have a major advantage & so I encourage everyone to continue to run all their operations in a watered down fashion. My advice to anyone who has gone away from laptops & migrated to iPads & things is simple, upgrade your monitor / find a laptop with a nice screen and you won't even F with tablets/phones like that anymore. Get your bluetooth devices synced up, carry them around with you, edit your photos, you'll be more faster, more fluent, & more responsive, and more productive after you invest like 3 days into setting up shop I promise!!
Desktop, laptop and tablet are originally designed to fill their specific niches. I game on my desktop computer which rocks intel core I 7 9700k, Nvidia RTX 2080 and 32 GB of DDR4 Ram. Not much comes even close to that caliber in the mobile realm. I use my laptop as my main workstation. As a programmer/web app developer, I get work done on my MacBook Pro which allows me to boot both mac os and windows 10 and use software like visual studio, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware player, etc. And I watch youtube, send emails, take notes, facebook and write occasional documents on my iPad. So, I don't think there really is any compelling reasons for me to combine all three. I cannot live without any of them.
