I have the mini case and its great for skirmish games as it can fit an entire team plus the storage underneath. I do have issues with the materials used - the pleather feels verrrry cheap and is glued on, and the metal is super chintzy. The thing just does not use anywhere near premium materials despite commanding over $100. Because of this i could not bring myself to buy a larger tablewar case for bigger games because I felt those issues would be magnified by a bigger shell. With that in mind, I went with battlefoam packout 720s with magna racks. You sacrifice the granularity of size in the racking system, but the nylon case feels bulletproof, even if all the molle attachment stuff feels kind of lame and unnecessary. You lose the viewing window which is awesome, but you do gain a shoulder strap. I will say Battlefoam cheaped put on the zipper pulls, but I suppose those can be replaced if necessary.
It's funny because I don't feel that the nylon of Battlefoam is any better than the hard-shell of the TableWar cases, although admittedly we have a bunch of cats in my household so they would eventually tear the nylon to shreds (I also have a thing with soft-shell cases where I hate em). I had actually considered the Magna Racks, but an inability to adjust them, and the fact that if you stack them too close together, it's difficult to reach models in the center, automatically vetoed that option for me. And I drive, so a shoulder strap is entirely unnecessary for me. I just need to get my case from the car to the venue :D
I don't think any of these cases should be taken as checked luggage on an airplane. If you mean as carry on, no only the mini is a small enough size to be brought into the cabin. The half-sized is just a few inches too deep and too tall for carry on.
great video thanks for the review. I ended up getting the full size case for the future proof nature, and as an additional storage as you said. So far I like it need to get some more use out of it though.
Probably! I used to be printing a lot, but nowadays I just fire it up when I need bits for a conversion/scratch building project! The forges may fire up once again when I start working on my Shatterpoint table!
I think depending on the bag, definitely! The mini is definitely carry on; I don't think it fits underneath airline seats, but would definitely fit in an overhead compartment! Shame that the half is just a touch too big to fit in overhead compartments, otherwise it would be the perfect carry on case for me.
