This was a very unique video, I like it. I think it would be a very good idea to make similar videos covering other "nightmare-like" TNO nations like this.

The plot twist that he knew Alexei was dead and had seen the bones but had gaslighted himself into believing that it was not so was an excellent moment to round off that story. I've played Taboritsky exactly once when the mod came out and seeing that everything that happens during a Tabby run was for less than absolutely nothing made sit back a bit. TNO has many moments like that, it's (or was since I don't know if it's been actively updated anymore) one of the biggest flexes I've seen in modding because it took a war game and turned it into a narrative tool.
Sadly it has removed a lot of made it unique. Atlantropa, Japanese port cities, Goring’s Germany Path, and soon Burgundy from what I hear, have all been removed all because it didn’t fits the developer’s ideas for “realism”. You think they would realize that we hate it by now.
Slight correction is that BurgSys isn’t the classification for Taboritsky’s Russia anymore, they actually got rid of BurgSys as a parent ideology. He’s now classified politically as an “Imperial Cultist”, which is unique to his political views in the world of TNO.
I see the HRE and taboritsky as a play on diffrent religious/political movements that arose as a response to oppression (The the NOI in america) The black league is also related to this.
Because of it’s many similarities and parallels to the Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40,000, the Holy Russian Empire is proof that in literally any other setting, the Imperium is a nightmarish state and one of the worst humanity can achieve, especially if saner paths are possible.

TNO is one of my favorite pieces of fiction because of how fascinating some of the dystopias in it are to me, its so unbelievably interesting to read the events while playing that I dont even mind if there's not much actual "gameplay"
This Channel Has a lot of promise. You should cover more Path from HoI4 mods and more HoI4 mods overall. Like Equestria At War and it being suprisingly so good, Old World Blues, KaiserReich, KaiserRedux, Red Flood, Pax Brittanica, Fuhrerreich, The Sun Shining on the World... It Has so much potential. And without talking about other TNO paths, especially Guangdong.
The scariest thing is that even after Taboritsky dies, the death squads keep operating as they did, not receiving any more orders but too afraid to stop performing their duty. So they go village to village, burning and killing, until there's nothing left - spending all the ammunition they have, including mustard gas, as coming back without having fired it warrants a death sentence. There's a scene where a stormtrooper, while liquidating a village, notices a house and two women, lying dead on the ground in front of it, and he recognises them as his mother and sister. But the brainwashing he was subject to was so strong this recognition only resulted in a temporary feeling of disgust and nausea, as he's ordered to march forward, which he obeys.
Amazing video, dude! I expected worse for such a small channel, but the editing and narration were surprisingly good. At one point I thought I was watching a top-tier video essay. Continue with the great work!
I think you are the only guy that essentially explained Taboritsky's Russia to a person that still struggled to understand his shtick. And I want to thank you for that. Im not even gonna lie, in the beginning I thought that "the clock" wasn't representative of Tabby's state of mind deteriorating and Russia's situation but I thought that jt was the nuclear clock

When he was explaining the clock mechanic as soon as the music started playing it gave me goosebumps bro, because i listened to the song not knowing what it was about until i found this video so when the music started playing it all started making sense, when i realized i felt my soul leaving my body for a moment
First time I played Taboritsky was kind of harrowing. I had the skills to mechanically unite Russia, but being forced to watch all my efforts collapse with no way to stop it was probably the most immersive experience I've had yet. Watching the funny clock man go from crazy larper into a psychotic mess was some of the most interesting content I've experienced. The only comparible scenario was Omsk, as the Great Trial feels like the most canonical ending to TNO. Given that Goering wins the Civil War and manages to achieve Fall Rot, but I've yet to have that happen without the Goering submod. Fun video, very nostalgic
If you ever consider making another TNO video I suggest either Yazov or Heydrich's story, they are next to Taboritsky in the quality of writing. They are TNO at its best.
@@Triple_Alliance Honestly TNO's Taboritsky works better for the story. If Taboritsky was like his irl self the story would not flow as well, in fact it would probably be worse.
Love this video. A lot of TNO Scenarios work really well as horror stories, like Russia's Midnight, the African Devastation, Order 44, etc. I feel it really captures what horrors a timeline that an Axis victory could lead to and what type of ideologies and methods would be normalized.
Not Japan dropped the bomb on pearl harbour, but Germany. With long ranged bombers. Also irl the Tzar family was not killed by Lenins orders, also "not likely". Lenin wanted to stage an open trial of the Tsar, as we know because of letters. Therefore it is NOT even likely AT ALL.
Awesome video! I haven't been active in the TNO scene recently but it's awesome to see this mod and it's writers are getting the recognition they deserve.
This video including your editing was amazing and pretty based considering you decided to talk about HOI4 TNO. If you wanted to cover more stuff like this I HEAVILY recommend you talk about another Russian Overlord named Dimitry Yazov. His motives and the story that carries out around him is just as unique and horrifying as Taboritsky. The Great Trial Awaits...
Please do more on TNO and other HOI4 mods, nobody else seems to do so. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long while. EDIT: Can you do Abaddon's reign of terror next? Or perhaps the horrors of Burgundy?
Did you make the animation at 12:00 or is it in the game? It's very creepy and well done. I've never played TNO, but the lore of The Holy Russian Empire is really interesting.

Some incorrect assumption 1. Stalin wasn't killed but in hideout and later he became the leader of the siberian peopels republic 2. Japan did not nuke pearl harbour but a german plane did so basiclay its germany
I think a follow-up video of the post-Taboritzky choices would be interesting. I like to imagine that first Taboritzky and then Abaddon with his Kingdom of the Hellborn is the worst possible choice.

I like to think when they wrote the HRE plot they thought, “What if we gave the players a way to LARP as the Imperium from 40K?” and thus birthed the nightmare.
TNO is a good universe to look at when seeing the results of these radical dogmatic ideologies clash with reality and the possibilities that could ensue. Be it Sablin's USSR, WerBell's Mercenary State, Himmler's Burgundy; there are so much more to explore when it comes to TNO aswell as other mods like Kaiserreich and Red Flood

Corrections in the history part: Nikolai Bukharin didn’t kill Stalin, he seized power and Stalin fled to West Siberia during the collapse of the Soviet Union. Also Germany dropped the bomb on Pearl Harbor, not Japan
