I'm exactly like you when it comes to nosebands! My horse has a crank noseband. I do it up so loose than i can usually fit my hand in there! But I don't do it too loose incase it slips down his face. He's quite fussy with pressure on his nose area, hence why I do it so loose. I would completely remove the noseband, but idk, I feel more in control when it's on for some reason, even though it doesn't serve a purpose :D

I've moved yards now (everything is so much better) but we don't have 24/7 summer turnout 😩 but we do have all day turnout all year round so even in winter they have the day out so that's good

Hiya, I need help! 😂 I've got a 8yr 16.2hh I.S.H and he is amazing but he is can be very spooky in the Indoor school ( he has been in there so many times but he has good days and not!) he also has a massive paddy when a horse goes out of the school and he will jump up and spin and I can't get him to move, he also does this when a horse he comes into the school but does this rarely! I've taken him places and he doesn't do it out places it just at home! He is perfect in outdoor schools it's just indoor! Do you have any tips?! Ps. Love your videos!! :)

Why do you say "steady" so strangely when talking to Kes in the paddock. I've noticed a lot of equestrians do it. Is there a reason for it? Or anyone else here know? Genuinely curious, lol.

ally could you give me some tips on getting my horse hindquarters muscles to develop? what do you think about working her on a lungle line with draw rens to achieve this?

hi, sorry I'm not ally but i might be able to help! my horse has some massive muscles on his hind legs and quarters, a lot of it is from hunting but i've managed to maintain it through lots of trotting work! i trot and canter him roughly 3 miles twice a week to keep up his fitness and it's helped a lot :) i also do two days of flatwork and two days of jumping/gridwork but hacking has helped the most. unfortunately i live in a very flat area but cantering up hills will do wonders for strengthening the hindquarters too :) although i used to use them myself, i wouldn't recommend using artificial training aids like draw reins as if the muscles aren't developed yet it will pull them unnaturally and might do more damage than good. hope i was of some help!

As i said, i live in a flat area with no hills. i maintain his muscles by trotting and cantering on grass verges for about three miles, twice a week. i jump him 2/3 times a week which probably helps a lot too. even if you're not much of a jumper, small grids will help - they also help strengthen muscles along the horses back. how old is your horse? if she's not very old, she probably just needs some time to fill out first :) try looking into different feeds, alongside chaff i give my horse Dobson and Horrell conditioning cubes, but i think they do feeds designed to build horses up.

My horse doesn't work well on the lunge so I have no idea if I'm being honest! The best thing to do would be to speak to an experienced trainer/instructor and get some advice from them :) I've only used draw reins once to encourage one of my ponies into an outline but he didn't seem happy in it at all, and I know it can do some damage to their muscles if not used under the right circumstances. Draw reins might encourage her to carry herself a little bit better but I can't see them helping massively with her hind :)
