New subscriber. This is a great teachable video. I think the notes on the quarter scratch sheets is really something I can use in the classroom. Thank you. Great video.

I really wish I would have seen a video like this BEFORE my graduate program. These are some great tips. I really like your idea of notes on scrap paper because just flagging the page doesn’t give me all the context I need. I’ll be trying your method the next time I dig into a classic. Thanks for sharing this information.

how would you suggest preparing for going to oxford to study languages specifically in terms of getting into the right routine and adjusting between alevels and uni ?

I don't think there's a way to get into a routine before you actually get to uni because you don't yet know how you can best manage your big workload increase. In terms of language, you really want to make sure you understand all the grammar you do at A-level because in first-year at Oxford, you take it to another level so it's important to have a good base. On the literature side, in my personal opinion, there is not much you can do to prepare or adjust to the change from A-level because it's just a massive shift but just get ready to learn on the job and you'll be fine! Of course, other people will have different experiences so if you can, I recommend asking others.

Could you go through your typical process, meaning, you get the essay title and reading list. Then what happens? How do you decide what to read and what to leave out?

Hi, I have answered this question in the video that’s coming out this Sunday as I felt it was worth a proper discussion…
