IDK if it was you who posted the comment about fingerbot someplace else. I had no idea it even existed ! When I saw your post, I thought the same thing. There is plenty of room in there to install one. I even have a nice aluminum channel to securely attach it to. This is a great idea!
I tend to agree. I ran some tests using cardboard and it worked but the temps were fairly cool. The guys at Kimbo camper are using this setup with an LG unit and I assume it works for them. I will find out for sure in July I guess. Its a good topic for a video.
@@TinyHouseGuy I have an Express van I live in FT. Trying to solve the AC problem without having one hang out the back. Nothing I've tried yet works. And I've even had holes cut in the floor and 2 radiator fans for intake/exhaust... doesn't work. Was considering switching to a truck for 4x4 capabilities. My only other idea for your setup would be to put in in the sleeping area and move your bed to the lower area. You'd have to cut intake/exhaust vents on either side of the top. That would be a huge experimental mod. But I'm surprised no one has solved the AC problem yet, without spending $12k on a Cruise and comfort 12v AC.
@@plantstho6599 There is a guy @EndgameCampers who placed his ac on a slide out drawer with a cover that clips over the opening. I went back and checked what the Kimbo guys are using and its a 5000 BTU Toshiba window AC (not LG). The only solution that seems reasonable is a 5000 BTU window AC with 500-600 watts of solar and a good power station. Probably need to back that up with a 2000 watt generator for super hot places.
@@TinyHouseGuy Power is not a problem for me. I have 900W of solar and 400Ah of LiFPo4, with an additional 200Ah of backup, , and just installed dc>dc charger from alt. Problem was getting the right ventilation. But I think I need to get a topper installed. This classic short style leaves much to be desired. Endgame looks like a good channel though. Thanks for mentioning it. Subbed to you both.
