mine still says pending camera check in

Try turning it off and back on again. Also, check your settings to see how often it is supposed to check in

How does the gps work

Seems to work just fine. The camera uploads its position, and it shows up in the app. Sometimes, it might take 24 hours to upload.

Does it send videos directly to phone app?

yes it will, however, it will send you a pic, and you have to click on it and request the video to be sent. the video is then sent the next time the camera checks in (that check in timeframe is adjustable in the camera settings)
