Thank you Sven for this video. We now have in our club, also thanks to your previous videos, 11 players who have switched to Tactical Padel. Many ask about the differences between the various rackets (El Duque and El Rey are also often asked), so your videos have always helped, thank you for that. Especially this comparison was very helpful, because we have many players in the class (intermediate) who ask for a racket and often the question came Round or Tear Drop Katana or El Toro.

How would you compare El Toro 1.0 vs KAtana Black 2.0? I have the first one. Despite being a bit head heavy it is still great to defend and has a huge sweet spot. I play on the right side but try to be a little bit more aggressive in my volleys and bandejas not so much in the smash.. Any thoughts?

The katana moves the easiest. The 2.0 moves as the 1.0 I would say, slightly less easy to move around

How would you say katana gray and katana black differ from each other? Thought that gray had a rather small sweetspot and that they felt like you didn't get the control I was hoping for! also how would you compare El duqe to El rey and El jeffe? which do you prefer and why?

Katana black has the biggest sweetspot I think. It has more power than the grey. I prefer the El jefe, because the ball goes very deep into the racket and that feels great

Ayham has free power, interactive Toro 2.0 or Gifi I have Toro 1, but it is excellent in control, but lacks the power I am looking for

After mastering certain level of padel and technique most of the people end up having hybrid or even diamond shape and medium hard rackets, especially among competitors. I think It is a natural step forward, of course there are a few exceptions. In other words, one can do what it used to do with a round shape raquet but faster, easier and with the same precision. That explains that you made that progression and so update you racket.

Its one of kind to be honest, very unique! The ball goes deeper into the racket in comparison to the viper. Which makes it more powerful and more contolable to me

The think it has more powe than the viper. Sweetspot if quite big. Similair to the blue one from Babolat. The tear drop shape is slightly more rounder with tactical, i think its a bit easier to move the racket around

hi Sven, thank you for this feedback and this very clear comparison between el toro and katana, but I think that many people, at least me, would also like a similar comparison between el jefe and el toro. which is more suitable for which level? for which side? etc... $390,- for a racket though is quite steep and doesn't seem very competitive pricin since most 'premium' racket seem to cap around $300,- and drop quickly after release to ~250.. But amazing review as always Sven!

Well… a racket, hand made in Spain with Kevlar and 100% carbon. That is truly premium. Big difference with a €250 or 300

@@OtroNivelPadel The kevlar is a nice touch I suppose. What troubles me is that most 'WPT premium rackets' sit somewhere in the $200-$300 range. (and these prices are generally higher since it's this years' variant and been on TV) Yes it's a huge range.. but some examples: Metalbone HRD 3.2 $220 (Galan), Tech viper $250 (Lebron), Hack 03 $235 (Pacquito), Siux electra $210 (Stupa) I hope you see my point. Not saying the quality of the rackets is better because they're used by pro's. But if they use it, the rackets have to be extremely good for a much lower price .. ?

from a marketing point of view it's a strange decision to name two El Toro models as 1.0 and 2.0. people will always assume that 2.0 is an upgrade, despite 1.0 being a better choice for a lot of people.

Maybe. But the 2.0 is an upgrade. The price is higher as well because of the kevlar frame. But that doesn’t mean that you need to choose that over the 1.0

Hi Sven - which is the main difference between El Toro 1.0 and 2.0 - I play on the righ, so I need a racket with control but I like to attack with vibora and smashes. I play lot of bandeja as well. Well, I was thinking at the EL JEFE because of the sweet spot and the control - I am afraid el toro 2.0 is more suitable for players on the left. thanks for your return. Vamos!!
