Holy crap, that took me about 2 hours to complete. Mainly because of the trigger assembly stuff falling out, getting the alignment right...take it on and off because the overtravel stopper was making the sear stuck (not letting it drop the striker). Ended up not using the overtravel stopper at all since while it does reduce a lot of the take up, it makes hard to tell if the trigger is dead or it's about to hit the wall where it drops the striker. Gun I used is a P365 XMacro with the muzzle brake. Sear spring #3 pretravel stopper pull weight spring. Overall, very happy about the reduced pretravel length. I can feel the trigger is lighter because of the spring and little bit shorter take up time. Give an update when I go shoot it.

I have noticed some discrepancies in my grouping of P365 that isn't present with my 1911 and I attribute it to the "creep" between the wall and the break. If I understand correctly, sear control spring reduces creep by lowering the starting position of the sear. Can I buy only the sear control spring? Thanks

Yes the sear control springs are available separately from the full kit.

TT….I just installed the kit on my 365XL and funny thing is, my pistol would not work with the overtravel stop in both configurations. Once removed, it works like a charm and looks like yours does in this video and there’s no overtravel without it.

Some guns won't use an overtravel stop based tolerance variations. Sounds like that was the case with yours.

Is getting the MCarbo Titanium striker kit worth it to get better quality parts in the long run, and is it compatible in any way with your trigger kit?
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 5 месяцев назад
The Mcarbo titanium striker is not compatible with our sear control spring based on its geometry changes. It also has less primer strike strength compared to a stock striker based on the weight and reduced power spring. Most customers I have talked with that have had them experienced reliability issues. You will get much better performance with a stock striker and our sear control spring. I wouldn't recommend using the Mcarbo striker.
@Rothdrop

@@tacticaltriggerllc thank you for saving me the hassle (: I'd much rather have it really reliable than have a nice gun not fire. My main concern is rust issues on the striker and spring and that affecting reliability. That was my main draw towards the titanium. P.S. Ordered the trigger kit last night and I'm excited!

Are there any trigger safety triggers you would recommend that are the flat style that could work with this trigger kit? I like the stock but was debating getting a trigger that might have just that extra bit of safety for the gun.
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 5 месяцев назад
The only one with the trigger safety is the Tyrant CNC trigger that I'm aware of. The trigger kit does work with that particular trigger with the exception of the pre-travel stop may need a layer removed or can't be used at all depending on tolerances. If you're interested in additional safety, I would add a manual safety lever as opposed to using a trigger with a blade safety since all the blade safety is really there for is the trigger itself is so heavy, it can be pulled in a drop. If you want to add a manual safety to the gun, you will need a modified manual safety lever for compatibility with our sear control spring. We have those available on the website if needed.
@Rothdrop
@Rothdrop 5 месяцев назад
@@tacticaltriggerllc ah. I think I checked the "not needed" box when I ordered mine because the grip module I'm getting doesn't have the manual safety (the Wilson Combat p365 x macro grip module). So I may just be out of luck then? Either way, the gun I currently have doesn't have a safety (it has a slight trigger safety I guess). I'm sure someone would explain to me that a safety isn't important and leads to a false sense of security, etc. But that's why having the trigger safety would make me feel a bit better about it.
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 5 месяцев назад
@@Rothdrop A trigger safety isn't an "active" safety in the sense that your finger defeats it in the same action as pulling the trigger. The pre-travel stage of the trigger pull on the p365 defeats the internal striker safety. A blade safety isn't required because the trigger won't pull itself in a drop based on its weight compared to the trigger bar. Guns with trigger safeties need them to avoid the trigger pulling itself based on either the weight of the trigger bar or the weight of the trigger. You can still add a manual safety, we have them available separately from the full kit. As noted you would need to get a compatible grip module or modify the grip module for the manual safety cutouts.

How does the modified backplate change in function from stock?
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 2 года назад
With reduced pre-travel when using the pre-travel stop the safety lever is kicked up slightly which interferes with the stock slide cap when removing or installing the slide. The modified slide cap allows clearance to be able to install and remove the slide as normal when using the pre travel stop.

So what does the “sear control spring” do? The gun doesn’t have one, so is adding it basically keeping the striker from going downward as much? Also, it’s loose and not putting pressure on the safety lever, correct? It’s just there to add space, like the spacers in front of and behind the trigger, right?
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 2 года назад
Yes. It isn't acting as a spring. It is acting like a spacer increasing the thickness of the safety lever pin. The safety lever pin is also the stop for the sear so increasing it's thickness adjusts the ride height of the sear.

@@tacticaltriggerllc I just installed my kit on p365, sear spring 3 and 1 over travel plate cause the gun won’t fire with more than 1over travel plate. My question is will going to sear spring 1 allow me to run more over travel plates? And from the looks of it spring 1 is the thickest so will that give more of a rolling trigger and spring 3 more of a breaking/crisp trigger? I just removed the sear spring cause the sear and striker were only connecting about 75% now it seats all the way. Either way I just ordered another trigger kit for my pmm compensated p365x so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the two differ.
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 2 года назад
@@CplGoldFish21 The sear control spring doesn't affect the overtravel. So installing a different sear control spring won't have an effect on the number of layers you can run on the over travel stop. The number one sear control spring provides the least amount of travel from wall to break ie more crisp. The sear control spring performance is relative to the tolerances of each gun. For example a number three could perform like a number one on another gun. The goal is to find the sear control spring that provides full coverage of the sear interfacing surface with the striker but not too much more. In most newer guns a number one sear control spring can be used to achieve this but some guns may still require a number 3 based on tolerances. Another check that can be done is with over travel minimized to just provide a clean break and no extra additional over travel, the travel from the wall to break should be around a 16th of an inch or more if the striker and sear engagement is greater than full coverage. This is a secondary check that can be done if you are unsure of how to verify the sear engagement visually. Hope that helps.

Will this work with the m carbo titanium striker kit and the Tyrant cnc trigger? I also have the empire pdf javelin recoil spring, super long qeustion I am sorry
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 6 месяцев назад
The sear control spring is not compatible with the mCarbo striker. You will get much better performance than the Mcarbo striker by using a stock striker and our sear control spring while avoiding the reliability issues of the Mcarbo striker. The kit is compatible with the Tyrant CNC trigger except for the pre-travel stop since pre-travel reduction allowable is governed by their blade safety. Performance wise most that have compared any of the aftermarket triggers upgraded vs the stock trigger upgraded with our kit will usually prefer the stock triggers. Other aftermarket triggers are more about looks than performance but there is a place for that as well. Hope that helps.

I had a shop install my kit and decided to take out the overtravel and pretravel stops. Because its my EDC. Can you explain what the rest of the kit is doing compared to stock internals?
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc Год назад
The sear control spring reduces the amount of creep in the break. A stock gun does not include a sear control spring. The reduced powered striker safety spring reduces pull weight by using a lighter spring than the stock spring. The striker safety spring is a good choice for pull weight reduction since it has no impact on primer strike reliability or safety function.
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc Год назад
The pre-travel and over travel stops have been designed to allow for appropriate margins for a concealed carry application to maintain full safety and reliability as well. However, for preference, some may prefer more pre-travel and/or overtravel for a carry application.

The modified slide cap allows for normal takedown and install of the slide when using the pre-travel stop. With reduced pre-travel, the safety lever is up a bit which interferes with an unmodified OEM slide cap. The modified slide has a small notch to allow clearance for the safety lever.

How do you reduce the trigger pull weight to 3lbs?
@tacticaltriggerllc
@tacticaltriggerllc 6 месяцев назад
Once the stock springs and sear to striker interfaces are broke in, the pull weight will be between 4 to 5#. If you install our reduced power striker safety spring, the pull weight will be 3 to 4# depending on the particular gun. On some guns that are closer to 3#, I will install the stock striker safety spring to bring the weight up closer to 4#. Then on guns that are over 4#, I will install the reduced power striker safety spring to get closer to the 4# range as well. If you want it as close to 3# as possible, then start with striker polishing and our reduced power striker safety spring. If it is still closer to the 4# weight you can look at modifying the trigger spring or install a reduced power sear spring which is a bit more difficult to install.
