Great man! After my Vortex got broken, it was changed by Tacx. Bow I have A vortex without those 4 Holes and Pins. It s a bit quiter, but still noisy. Do you have a recommendation on quite setups? Quite 26 inch Tires, some soezial floor mats to reduce the vibrations?
@@nickymanson9377 Info provided by Tacx website: Clicking sound In case of clicking sound on the Vortex, it means that the metal roll has come loose from the softgel. When the product is still in warranty, we advise to contact your dealer for the repair process In case of out of warranty, you can add powerglue between the holes mentioned in this picture (support.tacx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001192089-Sounds-created-by-trainer-wheel-on-)
Problem is that most people will use a standard tyre that will eventually start slipping and they will make things tighter and pump the tyre harder to compensate which eventually makes the metal sleeve hotter and de-laminate from the white plastic/elastomer roller. the tacx utility app shows how much pressure is on the roller. Using a trainer tyre aids adhesion to the roller therefore the tyre pressure can be around 70psi which gives more grip with less push on the roller and bearings.
Great job mate. The first time, the midpart was replaced free of charge by Tacx. But after 1200k's => Same problem. So bad it was getting on my nerves. I used nitro glue ( www.nitro.be ). Thanks again, you've been a great help.
I have set myself 4 challenges so far... I failed the first 2 but succeeded at the last 2. The next one will be very tough - trying to complete a Watopia Figure 8 in under 46 minutes :O
Mine used to be loud for a couple minutes while warming up. I used the super-glue trick and now it's loud all the time. Pretty bad. Wish I hadn't done it.
Hey WKG, was your Vortex only loud or did it also vibrate noticeably (hi-frequency) at +200W to the point of making your feet, legs (and ba11s) numb? Will try this super glue thin in the meantime.
Hey man, my Tacx Vortex is on the extreme end of the sound problem, it sounds like in these videos: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gJi4JS0g1Ow.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x9pYW-wxmP8.html Since the noise increased gradually and I don't use the trainer that much I've only just learned today that it is a hardware problem with the vortex. I have now contacted my retailer, but my warranty expires tomorrow, so I might have to diy it if Tacx won't replace my unit. Do you think the superglue drops will be enough in my case? Has this been a permanent fix for you or has the metal sleeve ever come loose again?
Hey, may I ask how you proceeded? Did you try the superglue trick? I'm having the same trouble/sound with a second-hand Tacx Satori right now and I thought it was a bearing failure. Cheers
