Tadao Ando Architecture - Chapel in Chateau la Coste

The big red cross is the only thing that identifies this place as a house of God. It's too bad that it looks more like strawberry liquorice. The shabby concrete protective wall looks like a prison. Of course the new building is glass and steel. The only thing that seemed to have character was the chapel itself. It all seems so sad. Is the chapel ever used anymore or it merely the useless remnant of a different age, sort of like a broken Greek statue?

ブラームスのハイドンバリエーションの主題はハイドンではなく、作者不明の巡礼の歌だという説があります。 以前サンチャゴ巡礼の写真集を見たら、四国にそっくり。みんな足が痛くて涙ぐみながら笑っている。 巡礼は観音堂や大師堂、バス停、道の駅、何処でも泊まります。 道の駅のベンチで夜明かしした時は、売店のオヤジさんが来て、怒られるかな、と思ったら、水道は自由に使っていいよ、と言っていなり寿司をお接待していただきました。

I find this structure very depressing and it is hard to believe that it is a place of worship. It looks more like a war prison.
