I just realized: that bit where Tadashi fires his gun and burns down the flag, they did the same thing in One Piece, in the Ennis Lobby arc, just before the Straw Hats stormed the Hall of Justice to rescue Robin.
Yeah neat reference, really powerful scene in One Piece as well, Oda's references to old anime are always fun, sure if you think about it the first four straw hats are analogous to the cast of lupin the third.
Even so why Arcadia has no rear turret? Or was it a standard design practices of the Federation Warships of the 30th Century? And how does it warps or does Arcadia FTL travel linear ones on the same dimension as regular travelling mode?
Since Space Battleship Yamato and Harlock are in the same universe and I also think I've seen it in the manga but it uses Wave Motion Engines or at least one that highly resembles a Wave Motion Engine. Even 8 centuries later they didn't manage to do better it seems. Definitly my favorite ever sci fi universe along with Doctor Who
