Personally, I think the joke was on the viewers, they live together (Taehyung last insta live's where we hear Jungkook singing, followed by the cover up story of playing games with friends) and were just in different rooms to access their insta accounts to do the insta live together. Which is partly why all the giggling and especially when Jungkook asked what are you doing tomorrow, as he knows exactly what they are doing. Frankly I think they planned it, as in the weverse live Jungkook was looking for Taehyung's comments and HYBE knows all about it unlike what they said... the reason for the insta live together was to create the illusion & reinforce idea that they don't live together. HYBE is still covering up that Taekook is real.

Jungkook has also said that his and Tae's relationship is not for Armies aka cameras. The fact they aren't sharing their relationship with Armies is a strong indication in conservative Sth Korea they are something more than friends & band mates. And let me just add there is also a reaction video by Sth Korean men on Jungkook & Taehyung's "skinship" where these men have stated that there actions are beyond the normal bonds of skinship between men of Sth Korean culture.
