I am sorry but those kind of blocks are suited for demo and not for fighting. how could you block that way against a boxer who will punch in jab then cross.
Yes I agree with you 100% karate same as taekwondo they all created where there was no boxing punches and wrestling. karate taekwondo blocked are too rigid better be deflecting on coming punches not just stop.some modern karate like Ashihara or Enshin only practice rigid blocks on stay position than they trained how to deflecting on coming attacks with up right fighting stance.also they incorporated variations of punches like cross upper cut jab hook.not just straight punches
