I hate what the new scoring and rules have done do competitive TKD. The last time I competed was 2014 nationals and tore my ACL. I planned on coming back but when I saw what style was starting to prevail, I said fuck it. Cut kick used to simply be a strategic kick to setup traps and certain combinations. But now it’s become some peoples primary scoring mechanism. It’s horribly boring to watch fights these days and it feels like strategy is completely watered down. Now I don’t want to come off as simply saying the old cliche “it used to be better back then”, but you have to admit the quality of fighting has gone Down. It makes me sick to watch even the highest levels of competition adopt this garbage.
These matches are extremely boring because they dont use crescent kicks,hook kicks,spinning hook,turning roundhouse kicks,side kicks its very boring not to use the beauty of the art with the different kicking techniques!!!
It may be boring but it still counts to try to knock your oppenant out , and these to were careful to not get knocked out by each other ...but if im wrong about the knockout rule then somebody , anybody who knows the rules please explain to me then...
