I have always said there is a huge difference between a "Idol" and a "Artist" and Taemin is truly a artist.

The other day I was thinking the same thing - Taemin makes nothing but Art, that's why I adore him and respect him so much! It is so rare this days, really rare.

@@vhopefullily1996i believe he mentioned his military time being the hardest on his mental health and the kpop industry in general is exploitative of their idols, in a way that lures them into their own demise. If you watch the MV for this song there’s also a lot of hints of taemin being controlled and taemin reminiscing on the childhood he missed, etc.

Again with his duality. He still has the manner like an idol .the image he portrayed as the youngest should like an angel will never leave him. This also the reason he love the concert. He is more expressive, bold, brave and daring.

He went through a lot of sexual harassment and was also forced to do things he didn't feel comfortable with/didn't want to do so that older people could gawk at him in sexual ways. It was exploitation when they forced him to wear skinny jeans when he felt naked, it was exploitation when they didn't tell him they were doing shirtless pictures so that he didn't work out and so he would look younger (he was a minor at this time), it was exploitation when he would go on talk shows and older men would feel him up/ ask him to moan/ put their hands on him / feed him / touching his bum / trying to kiss him without his consent. All of which you can find on youtube if you do even a basic search. There are literally dozens of videos of other members getting in front of hosts that are trying to touch Taemin without his consent. The company allowed and benefited from the image. That is just what is caught on camera. He was purposefully being sexualized by his company for profit off of the creepy adult men and women. Just because he wanted to be a trainee doesn't mean he wasn't exploited. Also he HIMSELF has said if he could do it again he would debut as an adult. Pretending that young idols aren't highly controlled and exploited is just wilful ignorance at this point. No matter who signs what papers, in fact WANTING and dreaming of something is often HOW they get exploited. Kpop companies are well known for exploitation of their talent. He's also said he wasn't ready to debut and was convinced by the company and his parents. Lot of kpop stars who were debuted at a young age talk about it like BOA. We don't actually know that is fully what the song is about, he's said it's about living a controlled life and then no longer being controlled, but a lot of people infer it, as he did not have a lot of choices at the time. He's also said that Guilty taemin is taemin, which he normally doesn't say about his concepts. It is his choice now to look vulnerable, but it wasn't always.
