TOTALLY! If this was done by other duo out there I bet it would be full of touching and more skin will be shown haha but not for Taemin and Koharu. they simply have to MOVE and voila! you got ARTISTI MUSIC to apperciate!
Taemin and Koharu dancing together in this iconic Move setting, with water all over them, her with that harsh dark lip & black hair and him with his soft barefaced look, both moving like one powerful body, completely immersed with the movements. It's the best thing that's ever happened to kpop.
I don't know how to explain, but when they dance together, the dynamics and movement are amazing. Koharu just adds this BOLDNESS that compliments Taemin's aesthetically pleasing vibes. They compliment each other sooooo well. I hope we get to see more of this duo working together for a long time.
It's this gorgeous thing that happens. She's intense and bold and fierce, and he's sexy and androgynous and fluid. I just love when they dance together.
I love how despite the fact that it's a duo, it's not romantic. It's refreshing, just two people in the rain, understanding each other through dance that is neither feminine nor masculine, a badass united team. Edit: Woah, was not expecting my inner musings and ramblings to get so many likes, thank youu!
i was thinking that as well with those exact words yes its sensual, but they barely touch at all and its obvious they arent romantically involved which is a change :)
She might avoid the cliched female moves but she still gives off this strong feminine sensual feeling along with extreme strength and so does Taemin because of her choreography! ahh she is just brilliant
It’s so hard to see someone outdance Taemin in kpop industry, almost none, and this amazing female choreographer just did it effortlessly. She was just flowing naturally.
I feel like the outfit similarities and the identical choreography removes the need of gender roles and turns this piece into two dancers expressing themselves in movement. I've always been a fan of Taemin's blatant androgyny and this presents him as an artist perfectly.
You got it spot on. I was reading this article where Taemin mentioned that as one of his goals in MOVE & his career in general. This and the song definitely hooked me now
Ohmygod thisssss!!! Ok, now I finally understand why I always get drawn to this particular version on the MV. It’s like they’re each other’s shadow or alter ego. Koharu is the tomboyish dark-haired girl and Taemin is the androgynous guy and together they break all rules of conventional sexiness. They exude sensuality without being romantic. I love the ambiguity, it’s soooo sexy.
Exactly!! It's precisely why I'm so into Taemin (& Jonghyun/Shinee). His music offers you these incredible experiences without it feeling dirty, cheap or vulgar.
Omg I don't know how many times I've watched this video and I've never noticed this.. Thanks for pointing it out! It's such a cute moment - I'm glad they used it in the final cut 😍
Actually she might say that they practiced separately a lot but met only twice. They usually practice with other dancer to replace each other. A lot of idols usually do that due to their busy schedule. Just like Sunmi and Taemin in MAMA. They even rehearsed together only once, but they practiced a lot separately.
Nia Nelson it sounds wrong bcs koharu is the choreographer, yes she is incredibly talented. Koharu is amazing dancer n choreographer and taemin is incredibly talented as well, execute it well n make the choreo his own style
This is probably the first time of my life that taemin doesnt take the full spot , Koharu just keeps stealing my attention she wants me to see her and I am obeying. Sorry Taemin you are a god but you've paired up with a goddess!
@@gromky372 I keep seeing you belittling Taemin in every comment. He's Koharu student so obviously he still has a long way to go but saying he is not a good dancer is a very wrong statement. And unless you have the knowledge of an expert dancer, don't come and spill nonsense.
@@QuynhNguyen-gp4ti Lmao "Taemin is not a good dancer"... I snickered to see that someone actually said that and expected to be taken with any modicum of seriosity.
Koharu is one of those dancers that can’t be beat at her own choreography. Don’t get me wrong, Taemin brings his unique energy (first time I saw his performance all I could think was the word *s u l t r y*), but this is Koharu’s dance for sure. If every move was etched into Taemin’s muscles, they were written by Koharu’s bones if you get what I mean
Yes. You said it. I had seen a few performances by Koharu a few years ago, the most memorable being Elastic Heart (Sia). I had all but forgotten about her and then stumbled upon the video demonstrating the “practice” for this song and immediately remembered Koharu. Lo behold, she’s here. 😍 This song and the dance are a delight!! Addicted!
I love how the camera sometimes follows Koharu and ignores Taemin - because the impact of the performance is more important than focusing on who is the 'popstar'.
Koharu is a dancer. Taemin is a singer, dancer, idol, etc. It's understandable tjat he doesn't have the time or dancing training and experience to do as well in dancing a routine that Koharu choreographed.
They are equals in the industry. They would be seen as being on the same level for this. If anything he's lucky she's working with him, although I think she would appreciate how well he translates her work.
Koharu Sugawara - she somehow stole my attention. she was just... controlling everything - she dances with all her heart, in every move you could feel that this was her dance.
Every so often in this video you'll see Koharu smile for a fraction of a second and that gives me life. They obviously enjoy working together and that is awesome.
OMG she is mesmerizing. I love Taemin, but it’s my first time seeing the creator of this choreography. I don’t know how she moves her body like that and her facial expressions and mood she’s displaying is ON POINT! Just wow!!!
Their own different styles are so good, I'm in love with Koharu's dance style, seriously, I Love taemin but I can't help looking at her the whole video, she's so intense when she dance, I wish I would be like her.
yael rodriguez Her name is Sugawaru Koharu. I've never heard of her until now, so I'd suggest typing her name into a search engine to see what you can find out about her.
The fact that he had no qualms asking for a feminine dance from Koharu and executing it so well. He just earned mad respect from me for not being afraid to try sth entirely new. he is honestly the most versatile dancer. Taeharu's synergy is just OUT OF THIS WORLD
Am I the only one, or this duo version really is the best one among all three?? I can't stop watching. Their chemistry is so-so good. I need mre dances of these two TTTT
Koharu sugawara💘💘 i just love it when they dance together their movements are so fluid(?) idk how to describe it but the combination of the two of them is just beautiful
이수빈 right???? I am a big Koharu fan! And all i can say is that Taemin is almost the only one that can match her moves, they combine and are so in sync and fluid omg!! Yes!! This song Is a bomb but with Koharu !!!! I love it even More!!
이수빈 this is my first song ive seen with taemin and i love him and his dance moves but can u tell me whats the other song were the girl and taemin dance together?
They don't need a fast, complicated, sexual move to stand out. This is such an art and sensual and that's something hard to find in the music industry in any country at the moment. They totally took it to another level!
One word: Androgyny This, along with their skill of course, is what makes the fashion, the choreography, and even the attitude so fucking beautiful. Every version of this MV deserves more views.
So I read your comment but I accidentally scrolled up and I read the comment as "I've watched his nipples on..." and I was so confused until I reread it-
After years of knowing this song and now having rediscovered it, i', watching this for the first time and this woman is mesmerizing, the fierceness, the delicacy all at once. taemin is genius but her presence is simply as an enchantress.
Koharu is a choreographer and dancing is literally what she has been trained for and what her work is. Even then Taemin can not only keep up with her but stand well on his own and give the same dance a different flavor. Kudos to him for exceeding the limits of idols and being a dancing icon now. ❤️
(She’s actually never been professionally trained; she has mentioned that she just dances how she feels she should after hearing a song.. but I still agree w your comment💓)
Michelle Tewksbury That's not true. She is professionally trained like hell. She started dancing at age 10 and won many competitions in Japan. Then she got sick of competing and moved to LA at age 18.
I think we have different ideas of “professionally trained”.. Im saying that she never took lessons in ballet, jazz.. any dance lessons to get her into dancing. She’s mentioned this in various interviews; in her Music Station interview, in the Sayonara Hitori behind the scenes footage (exclusive with the album) as well as others.
The high school she went (VAM EIKO High School's dance performance course) was for dancers. I don't see how she cannot be professionally trained. She started dancing because she wanted to join a Jpop group named "Morning Musume".
Ok.. I guess I wasn’t 100% right; sorry. She never went as far as to mention her high school in the two interviews I’ve watched^ But in this interview, (fashionpost.jp/portraits/93309) she says that when she first started dancing, it was for fun. She simply copied dance moves from genres such as Jazz and “Lock” (like popping and locking I imagine) and changed them to her style little by little. Since she was little, she enjoyed creating things, so she danced without learning any of the basics. So I was correct, but then she goes on to mention what you mentioned. She came to a point where she decided to dance more seriously, and thought she should learn the basics of dance. And she learned jazz and hip hop from middle school into high school. So I was somewhat misinformed.. I apologize.
I really like this because first of all they are both amazing and very talented dancers and second of all I love that a man and a woman can dance together without there being a “romantic” or sexual feel between them but more so just them simply being two human beings who compliment each other very well and are a very dynamic duo
Exactly. I saw amazing dancing chemistry, but nothing else-- which is amazing! lol. The two of them have such a similar aura, it's really cool to watch imo
I have been a fan of Koharu for YEARS (and also longer than I have been a kpop fan) and have seen her do amazing collaborations with numerous dancers, but Taemin? Taemin is her dancing soul mate, no one can tell me otherwise.
whysolonely GIRL I KNOW RIGHT. I've seen her perform with Dachi Miura, and to this DAY no one can give me vibe other than Taemin and Koharu together dead ass 😭❤
i just realized ive never seen taemins face or just him in general in this mv version. i just cant keep my eyes off of koharu, i have tunnel vision for her im sorry im so gay for her someone save me
Lol, I'm straight but whenever I watch a video of her dancing I have a moment where I question my sexuality. Like hot damn woman u need to stop that lmao.
I honestly feel like this was the best version in terms of the music videos for this song. The duo has such a great chemistry, and they both have the skills to pull of this amazing fluid yet firm dance. It' so mesmerizing to see the two of them dancing together, and so entertaining. They also look like they're having a great time, enjoying what they do for a living, cause by the end of it, you could see them trying to cover their little smiles. So awesome!!
Ikr. It's like they're two polypeptide chains that are bonded together by hydrophilic interactions, disulfide bridges, Ionic Bonds, _and_ hydrogen bonds. . They are literally quaternary structures lol
3:16 is cute, Koharu is just barely keeping a smile away as she gets into the choreography with Taemin I'm so glad she was chosen to work with Taemin, she is an amazing dancer and I couldn't stop watching her the whole time
KOHARU AND TAEMIN ARE LIKE SOULMATES. Bodymates(? Even. Their moves look like they were meant to be. Born to dance together. It's such a precious friendship ♥ I love them both so much, and I'm always happy to see them perform.
My eyes only following the choreographer! And of course no one can beat the choreographer with her own choreography , but damn Taemin did such a great job! I'm more impressed about him after watch this. She must be so proud of her talented student!
taemin really did a great job n improved so much. thanks to koharu, taemin can learn so much from her, she is a good teacher n friend for taemin. She is so proud of taemin, she said herself when they come to japanese radio station
Coming from an American perspective, I feel like he has a very feminine dance style and hers is a bit masculine here. It's a nice change and a great contrast between them. Very hypnotizing.

I love Taemin but the way Koharu moves...wow. Even more sensual. I didn’t think it was possible!!!! Like I admire the way Taemin moves so silkily it’s an art form but Koharu makes me feel like she’s making love to me through the choreo.
The way that they dance together but barely look at each other is so mesmerizing! I don't really know why but it really is a new take on dancing together as a duo, well for me at least as I have not encountered it before. But then again I am so in love with this song and all the MVs that my opinion is probably biased...
The choreography is very simple. What makes it special is the way the two move and look. I don't think many dancers/artists can pull this off. They look so sexy just by moving their body slowly together without touching or interacting much. But you can sense the strong connection between the two. Yeah, I've never seen duo dance like this either.
I agree. It really is a shame. It's honestly because SHINee and Taemin don't follow what is trending. They do their own thing. Which is what makes them so amazing. But unfortunately the majority of people are into what is trendy and they prefer they kpop to sound western. Which ruins the beauty of kpop
the way she flicked her hand in the first few seconds, I swear I could’ve teared up in that moment. So much control, so incredibly passionate. I feel blessed when I see people committed to their art. I’m so glad to have watched her dance
