Thank you for this! Taemin switches into such a Mode when he's performing, he really does pull you in. It's like the opposite of the (equally impressive) outgoing/hype videos where the performer(s) infect you with their enthusiasm and energy - with Taemin he pulls you into himself, and whatever mood he's trying to create. In my view, that's one of the reasons why he's called sensual, rather than sexual, lol.

Actually the “weird twitch” you mentioned around 5:40 is a dance move called popping! It requires a lot of body/muscle control and Taemin is one of the best at it. If you’ve seen him hit the “vroom” in the chorus part of SuperM Black Car, he basically vibrates and that’s him popping pretty much every muscle in his upper body at the same time (it’s so good there’s a whole compilation on twitter of him just doing the vroom lol) I think it’s funny that you said you expect contemporary and ballet from him because popping/street dancing is what he learned when he was teaching himself how to dance as a kid, which is so different 😂 but he learned contemporary dance a few years ago and now that’s what people know him for

I don't know who said he once had a weak voice, but that's not true. He made his debut at the age of 14, had a mutation and was not allowed to sing too much so as not to damage the vocal cords. By the way, I will mention that he underwent the most difficult recruitment for SM when he was only 11 years old. Yes, Taemin hypnotizes with his eyesight and presence on stage. Did you see him perform at the age of 17-18 on Immortal Song?

Haha he did a little bit of acting but sadly I think Taemin got scared off of acting after that jdrama so don’t expect him in more kdramas any time soon (I do think he is good at portraying a character in his mv or on stage but I’d suppose acting in a drama is a different beast, a different type of performance)
