Yes TAEMIN is an artist who has lived up to and maybe even exceeded his role models, as evidenced by his concert performance. What do I look for in a Taemin video/song? Everything all-at-once. Taemin is a holistic experience no compromise so I don't want to take him in in parts or dissect everything in compartments. His voice, his emotional energy, his facial expression, his body language, the way he f with melody, beat, drops, pops, breathing, panting, EVERYTHING, all at once please thank you very much. My typical Taemin new song experience goes like this: watch the MV first with subs on, if the English subs suck which they always do I switch to Chinese subs auto-translate back to English to get all the missing info and emotion and rewatch for the fuller experience. Anywayz thanks for a good review about The Rizzness himself, I'm grateful that you're honest about Kpop English lyrics issue. Just remember your reaction could've been many times higher energy if you used the Chinese subs retranslation to English. It still won't get the whole picture but still better than crappy zero effort SM English becos SM Chinese is done by professionals. Bye!

same for me, beat first because Taemin's beats are always crazy like when I think of Move, Want, Criminal, Idea, Advice and now Guilty and The Rizzness too, all have crazy beats or some sort of orchestration. Even a lot of his b-sides since his solo debut and also Japanese tracks like Famous. Nothing sounds alike.

For me the melody, the beat, the vocals and the instrumentation are all equal aspects of the song. Lyrics are not that important, especially when I listen to Kpop, but of course great lyrics can elevate the song to another level (which happens often with Taemin songs - Criminal being the perfect example). The Rizzness has been controversial from the get go, cause of the lyrics. Idk, as a non native English speaker I couldn’t care less about the English words he’s using in the song. I just genuinely love the song for its music, epic anthem-like quality and Taemin’s delivery. Plus it’s super catchy and addictive.

Similar to you, I notice the beat and the visual. Then vocals. BTW you should check out the Rizzness Stage at his Metamorph concert from this weekend. I luckily was there, MF was upside down!

Yeah I saw SHINee in 2010 and I think I was one of the only men there, so i feel that but it was fantastic. I love the rizzness, i don't really know if anyone else could pull it off, but taemin just manages it so well.

TAEMIN is currently an artist who can combine it all: dancing, charisma, performing and singing at the highest level at the same time. 1/ Some idols can sing better than TAEMIN but I'm sure they can't reach his dancing level 2/ Some others may have a dancing level close to TAEMIN's level, but they certainly can't sing as well as him Especially, no one can do what TAEMIN does. Why could I see Taeyong keeping up with his hyung on this? And as far as what I look for first...it honestly depends on the artist. Sometimes, I'm looking at the dancing, or it's the lyrics, other times it's the whole package.

I look for the lyrics, but the beat, choreo, and visuals sometimes slaps you in the face, but I always try to focus on the lyrics first.

As a Shawol, we know already about his vocal so for his MV, I always look forward on his choreo and lyrics, beat should be the last for me coz whatever the beat is, I know Taemin will pull it off. It's difficult for me to watch the MV with sub at same time, that's my problem tho.. what I normally do is watch the MV without sub first, then replay with sub to concentrate on the lyrics and the connection of it through the MV.
