There was a whole 10 year period where the entire kpop industry just waited for BigBang to innovate so they could copy them and they're still considered the best live performers in history. K-pop is not a genre, it's an industry. There are hip hop, R and B , ballands all types of songs in Korean, if a song is in Korean people just call it k-pop. Ideally k-pop should be used for Korean pop songs, but it's a generalized term now.
