BIGBANG music was already going around the internet and getting discovered by random people everywhere way before social media became massively used as a marketing tool by idol companies during third generation. When this song came out, Taeyang and G-Dragon were releasing solo works that made them go viral on video plaforms like RU-vid. Their music were either relatable or magnetizing. And surprisingly, Taeyang's RnB sound shook a lot of RU-vidrs. Making it one of the most covered songs at that time.

Seen this mv hundreds of times and it still hurts. After the release of this album, Taeyang was undoubtedly the best vocalist in Kpop and gained respect even from senior entertainment figures. I remember [illegally🫣] downloading an English cover together with the original and sang in English lyrics. You cannot imagine how we get (delayed) updates during that time when socmed was not a thing. I got updates from fanpage blogs (vlogs were unheard of 😂). It's interesting to listen to older international Kpop fans on how they try to keep up with their not-so-accepted fangirling/fanboying activities.
I love hearing about this stuff, as I obviously wasn't into kpop or paying attention to these artists to know. I can only imagine the pain and uncertainty!! 😭

Yeah Ringa Linga was a gift from G Dragon (leader of Big Bang) to Taeyang cause they are best friends and have been for more than 20 years now. They met when they both joined YG at the ages of 13-14. They were originally supposed to debut as a hip-hop duo called GDxYB. The name GD for G Dragon because his name is Kwon Ji-Yong. Ji like G and Yong means Dragon. Then YB because his real name is Dong Young Bae. Taeyang is the stage name he chose meaning sun. He goes by the name Sol in Japan meaning, I'm sure you guessed it.. lol. One of Taeyang's best if not the best songs is Eyes, nose lips. Also check oit BigBang, the group Taeyang is part of. They are kings of kings of kpop and are considered kings of live performances.

Have you ever listened to the kings BIGBANG? It's taeyangs group!! You really should, and if you do, i would recommend not only listen to their party songs but dive a little bit more in their discography and bsides, that is where the real gold is at. If you want to react to more of Taeyang you should really go for don't wake me up AND eyes, nose lips, one of the best ballads in kpop HANDS DOWN, specially a performance he did in fantastic duo with a fan, it's...gawd, never heard a kpop performance that gave me more goosebumps. It was a song he wrote for his wife, while they were dating and they fought. After that they came back together and eventually got married! They have now a baby ❤ his wife is a gorgeous queen, an actress, min hyorin. There is also a cover/version by epik high (a khiphop trio) featuring park bom (2ne1s singer) that is also very very interesting. But yeah, you should react to eyes, nose, lips for a better life. EDIT: Ringa Linga is also a must!! Some yg trainees appear at the back LMAO I think some iKON members and Lisa were in the back? I don't remember clearly, but yeah.
