So in this mv, Taeyeon is an alien who comes to Earth and meets DEAN by chance. She realizes the stones on her necklace and on dean's ring are made for each other. Taeyeon is originated from the galaxy Messier 74, or M74 as you can see on her pink beeper, in the constellation Pisces ( which is also TY zodiac sign). The planet calls her to return but TY wants to stay longer. Everything is new for her and she enjoys it with dean. But at the end, she has to go back to her planet and leaves her necklace with dean. As if even though we are destined to meet, we do not belong to each other, but the stones do. So like a starlight, TY disappears. lol this sounds like some kind of fanfics 😂

4 years later and I still wouldn't be mad if they were a couple. Aesthetic as heck couple, urgh. Kind of need this.

Taeyeon was born on March 9 Which is Pisces. The birthstone color is blue which is her necklace. @ 1:10 "M74 - miss me " M74 is a galaxy In the constellation Pisces where taeyeon is from so basically taeyeon is sort of an alien. She called some one on the phone which probably was her people telling her to come back home (m74) She came to visit earth where she ran into dean. And he showed her some things they do on earth (listening to music, the beach, skateboarding, the swing, piano.) She loves it here and likes dean but she knows that she can't stay here so she spends the last time with him watching the sunset on the roof top and gives him her necklace as a memory of her . Then she leaves to go back to M74. "You are my starlight" means that if ever they miss each other to look at the stars so they won't feel alone. I think this is what is happening here and the other songs on her album might have something to do with this. I think Either way, it's a nice song . I love it❤️

I interpret Starlight and Why to be about them both being alien tourists visiting earth. My evidence would be the focus on their matching pendants which could be a way to identify another traveler. Also, that message about missing someone from M74 appears in both MVs. M74 is a spiral galaxy located in the Pisces constellation. It's too specific a detail to be nothing imo. Taeyeon is a Pisces and even has a tiny Pisces tattoo behind her ear so maybe picking a galaxy in the Pisces constellation is a connection to her. In WHY, Dean is already gone and it's Taeyeon doing things off her bucket list by herself.

Starlight is a light produced by stars. Here's my theory: Taeyeon is an imagine of Dean on this music video. First, we see Taeyeon holding two sauce and Dean was seen walking with headphones on, this is where the music starts to play in his head. The necklace are what connects the two. As the story goes on, Dean and Taeyeon were seen sitting and Dean was listening to some music, which Dean offered to Taeyeon aswell. Taeyeon was happy to hear the song and got disinterested when Dean pulled out the mp3 that says "Miss Me" which leads to another theory that they are both music lovers, had broken up and she died on the process. Dean's starlight is Taeyeon who he reminisced the past before she died and became a starlight. At the end of the music video, the sun is coming down aka sunset, Taeyeon had to leave because it's getting dark and she cant be with him anylonger. So she gives the necklace back to him and Dean was transcended back to the reality where he got a flashback of her girlfriend who used to live. again, it's just my theory that he misses his Taeyeon which he calls his starlight.
