A long one. Sorry in advance. I just really love Taeyeon quite a bit. A music critic once said Taeyeon sang like a woman that was divorced 7 times. She's really good at telling sad stories. She can do it with powerful belts that sound like crying and pierce your soul to its core but she also can make you hold your breath with singing barely above whisper too. She has that kind of talent. She's very relatable. But don't worry, it's definitely not all she is. Once you see more of her, you'll actually discover a person who's very humorous and very down to earth. She's an SNSD member, and they are one of the funniest groups in the industry. She's also a very charismatic and lively performer and she does have plenty of songs that put you in a good mood. Even this INVU album is not that depressing. It just comes in sections and the first one is mostly about being hurt in love and growing up. As the album progresses, she'll get to be the hurter, she'll get to have the keeper, she'll learn to move on and enjoy herself and she'll get her closure. Both you and her will be ok in the end. Some of the content to check out about her, other than Killing Voice -- All 3 of her full albums. You are checking her third but her first and second are very special too. She's known for having terrific b-sides. "My Voice - Deluxe edition" has 17 tracks, "Purpose - Repackage" has 15+instrumental. Full tracklists are on wikipedia. Some songs were released as singles, some on a repackage and some are physical album only, so playlists on streaming services are a mess. But I do hope you check these out sometime even if not for the camera. -- 'S Concert Taeyeon always sings well but she's definitely sensitive to her environment and can be rather reserved in situations she's not comfortable with. Big multi-group concerts and award shows would be an example of that. Her solo concerts are where she's really in her element and it's beautiful. She performs with a live band and really enjoys herself. Suggesting 'S concert in particular because it's good, is on YT in full and people don't seem to get into any trouble reacting to parts of it. The performance of "Fine" from that concert went viral on social media and many newer fans know Taeyeon because of that clip -- Begin Again 3 It's a TV show where a broadcaster invites a bunch of artists of different background, they form a band together and go perform on the streets, often in foreign cities where no one really knows who they are. It's a very authentic and refreshing show. taeyeonsubs has full episodes with Taeyeon subbed on their blog but most performances by her and her band in Berlin and Amsterdam are on RU-vid. Some are her songs like "Four Seasons", "All Night Long", "Rain", "11:11", "If" etc, some are covers like "When We Were Young", "Slow Motion" or "Bad Guy". I'm excited for your whole journey with Taeyeon. She got so much to offer. I hope you enjoy all throughout the journey. As for the studio version of Some Nights, she did something different there which we haven't heard from her before. But both version hits the same. As for the rest of the album, you'd eventually hear a happy vibe towards the end. Also, her "Purpose" album feels heavier than INVU in my opinion but there are happy songs in it as well. The album picks up sonically, lyrically it’s still gonna hit hard. The thing about Taeyeon is that she is constantly experimenting with different genres and does all them well so theirs something for everyone. If you are looking for something more upbeat her Why mini albums is great, her Purpose full album is a fan favorite has more diverse feel to it with more powerful, inspiring m, soulful sound. Really no matter where you start with it’s going to be great. Taeyeon doesn’t make bad music honestly.

I am looking forward to your Taeyeon journey! If I had to pick 2 'upbeat' albums...I would say her "Why" or "What Do I Call You" mini albums. I feel like her full albums always have a specific journey she wants to take us on so I get why they feel a bit more 'deep.' Still, I am all for doom and gloom Taeyeon because her voice just takes that genre to another level.

Her wounds at the end of Can't control myself are from torned roses threw to her for splendid performance that the public enjoyed I don't know how to interpret that like she exposed that she's hurting but the public enjoy your suffering and decides to hurt her more but the only thing she can do is smile Smile of pain I guess

Personally my favorite from this album was Toddler without a doubt! I love the groovy production and ethereal vocals on this song. And the lyrics too are very much relatable for me. I'd highly recommend you to check out 'What Do I Call You' and 'Four Seasons ' they are some of her R&B gems imo.

Taeyeon has an incredible amount of wonderful songs. She is definitely my favourite solo artist and one of the most decorated as well as respected in Kpop. She is someone who has gone through alot both mentally and physically since she has been in the Kpop industry for 16 years and has suffered from depression through hard times and the experiences can sometimes be reflected in her songs. Here are some of my favourite songs that you should check out! Happier(Non-sad?) songs: UR, Why, Gravity, Love you like crazy, Drawing our moments(Must check out!), Better babe(Another banger!), Stress Sad(Heavier?) songs: If, Time Lapse(My fav), My tragedy(Another fav), Time spent walking on memories

Taeyeon is so unique. I'm so sure you will be so shocked when you finish listening this album. If I need to choose just one artist to listen forever, It would be Taeyeon without a doubt. Once you start to stanning her, there's no exit. It's so hard to choose my fave song from her but nowadays i listen 'fire' from her 2nd full album My Voice a little bit more.

I love seeing people experience taeyeon's songs for the first time, especially the entire INVU album omg i'm so excited to see your journey with her! taeyeon actually said that she "wanted to express a wide spectrum of feelings in a way that’s not too obvious or predictable" in this album, so you're right about her addressing a lot of intense stuff 😁

I am so excited you're going through her albums. Her discography is legendary. I believe her more upbeat songs are in her earlier albums. She considers U R to be the hardest song for her to sing, definitely check that one out

Some nights I believe is a song dedicated to her late father and which she mentioned in a radio show before that is one of her favorite songs in the album. Once you go through her discography you will see that she doesn't stay in one genre and likes to try different things. I also like her 'Begin Again' covers which is always fun to watch seeing her sing live! Please also watch her funny clips because her personality is also funny 🤣

Weekend was released as a digital single mid 2021, I think. That must be a reason why this has higher streams than other tracks on the album

I would recommend her Top 12 Emotional Singing video. It's a compilation if concert performances. I feel like the Killing Voice was very laidback vocally vs how she performs vocally during her live concerts

Taeyeon wrote the lyrics for can't control myself and came up with the idea for the music video with can be interpreted also as how the toxic midia is cruel if you think about how the only public relationship that she had ended very bad because of how the media and the public was so harsh on her during that time. Now she's doing great and as you can see good as ever such a great artist who is so easy to love thanks for checking out Taeyeon 💜 And as you said this album is a break up album and the fact that it came out on valentine's day is something. In this first part is more dark and intense but as it goes by it warms up ☺️ My favorite album by Taeyeon is purpose, i think INVU is better overall but purpose is more intense on the vocals and goes crazy on the production.

I think she meets that guy at the theater and she's actually having an affair but things get worse they have to act on stage and in the final scene they fight in front of the audience and the audience thinks it's real The thorn of the roses they throw hurts taeyeon and as the curtain closes taeyeon tells the audience " There are things you don't know," he gave a disappointed look.
