It's insane how SM didn't want INVU to be the title track. I'm so glad Taeyeon fought back and stick by her decision. She proved SM they were wrong by topping the charts. INVU is really a best tracks of 2022
There aren't many singers who have the ability to reduce me to tears. Taeyeon does it on a regular basis. "Fine" or "What do I call you?" should be next.
Taeyeon was the one who pushed for INVU to be the title track and I’m so glad she did, she got a PAK with the song and won so many music shows, it was one of my top songs of 2022 and the whole album was amazing I highly recommend it!
I am not a ballad person but something about Taeyeon singing a ballad makes it ten times better Her voice is the kind that can soothe me and put me to sleep. And INVU was my album of the year last year
Taeyeon is kicking off her first tour in 3 years tomorrow. Having not seen any of her concert performances yet, you don’t understand the level of excitement sones are buzzing with right now. Taeyeon and live band and a long list of beloved songs she never performed live… getting chills just thinking about it. They also showed the first Queen Puzzle teaser today that she’s gonna MC and there’s a weekly broadcast of Amazing Saturday tomorrow. It’s just a very good time to be her fan and this reaction couldn’t have happened at a better moment ❤ If you ever feel like proceeding with her solo work, “Weekend” and “Can’t Control Myself” MVs could be good candidates. Both are singles from her most recent album “INVU” and they are very different from the title and each other - a nice showcase of variety she can offer within a single album. Versatility is really her brand. They say “the genre is Taeyeon”, because she doesn’t ever stick to one safe thing that works. She tries everything and it somehow fits and the refinement her level of skill brings into everything makes even most basic things sound good. Another option could be her “Begin Again 3” performances like “When We Were Young” and “Slow Motion”. Both are covers of songs by foreign artists so no spoilers but it’s a nice glimpse into Taeyeon as an artist and a professional singer outside of her idol persona. She always had that other side going as a parallel track to her SNSD fame and it’s one of the reasons she’s loved and respected by general public so much. Or you could just start with “I” and proceed chronologically. She’s been making hits very steadily ever since before even debuting solo officially, so you can’t go long without hitting one even if you do things completely random. Just keep in mind that “Starlight” -> “Why” are a connected story and there’s also a dance ver MV for “Why” that doesn’t borrow any footage from main MV (and there’s performance of “Starlight” with Jaehyun). Everything else in her discography is mostly order independent. Sorry for a long rant. Taeyeon is just really my favorite thing in entirety of kpop and I’m kind of high with everything going on right now 😂
This song is just iconic and absolute perfection! Another one I’d recommend is Gravity - it made me cry the first time I ever heard it (via a live performance video) simply because of how gorgeous her voice sounds
React to her Killing Voice last. I guarantee you'll enjoy it even more if you knew some of the songs. I recommend I, Spark, What do I call you, and Weekend.
Today is Taengcon day!🎉 After 3 years, we sone been waiting for this so hopefully fans who coming today & tomorrow have so much fun and enjoy every moment 🥰
This was also my song of the year for 2022. Its about how her unrequited love is killing her and she is envious of the person who doesnt love her because they have it so easy.
*Welcome to Taeyeon rabbit hole 🕳🐇🥕, once you get in, you’ll never be able to get out. Stuck in here since 2007 and I got no whatsoever plans going out*
Rj, you'll absolutely love her other solos, her vocal range and texture is insane, quite literally one of the best female vocalists in the kpop industry
I have heard this song so many times and each time i kept on forgetting to download it, but now it's in my playlist, Her voice is outstanding and also the song is awesome.
King Taeyeon gets another one! The INVU album is a no-skip in my opinion. "Set Myself On FIre" is probably my favorite Taeyeon b-side, but you really can't go wrong. "Gravity" is killer too, that's one that'll bring a tear to the eye
So true. I recently did a re-translation of the entire Killing Voice so we could have good English lyrics that fit the melodies. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tE3Gaa0QabE.html
Oh dude, what timing... I only just discovered this gem of a song in the last week and listen to it at least once a day... wonderful to see you check it out for the first time too!
I recommend Why (summer bop!), Can't Control Myself (pretty pop punk), Fine (her most iconic song), Something New (interesting mv, underrated title track), UR and Time Lapse (my personal favorites)!
I'm so jealous! I would love to discover Taeyeon for the first time again. You will absolutely love all her title tracks. But the b sides are so so good - I would even dare say that among sm artists her b sides are on par with red velvet's.
RJJJJJJJ!!! the moment i saw this reaction on my YT homepage, the first thing i said is, " AM I DREAMING?" lol i never expected for you to check her solo yeayyy! INVU is my song of the year of 2022! my ult Kpop King forever
True. Another Professional Dancer also noticed it on his reaction. Good work to Taeyeon, the choreographer, and back up dancers 🎉. Here's the link if you're interested... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OOpttYwuWPk.html
I hope u dive into more taeyeon solos and they're all AMAZINGGGG, idek what songs to recommend but I love everything so yh. Also after seeing her solos pls react to her dingo killing voice
After Taeyeon's solo and TaeTiSeo's video reaction, please do the reaction to many videos of Taeyeon's solo digest 'Killing Voice' and street performance series 'Begin Again 3'. Especially her cover of 'When We Were Young' is a must-see !!
Would absolutely love to see more reactions to Taeyeon!! She’s so good, you should check her other songs and b-sides. As a long time taeyeon stan, i can proudly say she doesn’t have a single bad song
INVU was one of last year’s best songs!! So glad you reacted to it! Taeyeon has a divine voice, especially made for this goddess level song & MV (or whatever she ever wants to do). Have you ever checked out Sunmi? She’s another great soloist (originally from Wonder Girls, who are also amazing & have lots of retro vibes).
The year before GOT the Beat existed you already reacted to her in Key's Hate That! She also has a duet with Taemin on his Advice album called If I Could Tell You and one with Jonghyun called Lonely whose MV you haven't reacted to! I recommend Can't Control Myself, Weekend and Toddler
It's not easy to go from Kpop idol to successful soloist because of the stigma of being "just an idol singer" you carry with you. However, she has become an icon in Korea from just her 8 year solo career. Idols of all ages and generations look up to her with respect and awe. Aespa once said on Instagram that if you can sing Gravity or U R by Taeyeon well in your audition at your SM auditon, it's a free pass. Her live singing is on another level. Her live video performance of Fine where she silences an entire stadium singing acapella went viral some years back.
Please check Spark mv & dance practice, I Got Love mv & concert edition, Why mv & dance mv, I mv & concert edition, Four Seasons mv & concert edition, Fine mv & concert edition and the list goes on 😅😅 I hope you will check her concert edition too because in her concert, she used live band so the musics are better than cds 😅
her voice is just incredible! you have to check out her killing voice some time, just sooo good (you might wanna watch some more MVs before cause that would be a lot to spoil for yourself in one go)
Thankyouuuu your reactions are what i look forward to every mon, wed, fri haha always love them sm :)) Totally get what you mean by wanting to get to know her discography more first before checking out her killing voicce, will definitely be here for the entire journey hehe have fun!
React to her solo MV's in the order they were released. Start with "I" from 2015. That would be my recommendation. Hold off on her Killing Voice for now. King Taeyeon, is "Simply The Best" as Tina Turner would say. Tae is her own genre.
RJ its the way that this is one of my top fave k pop songs from a soloist. i can listen to this like 20 times a day. It's always on replay. i love it so much and the music video is very beautiful. so is taeyeon loll
INVU was one of my favorite albums last year, and this video one of my favorites too, it's aesthetically pleasing and everything is so well done! Of course, the vocals are always on point ♥️
