I love how she was not going for the typical "my hits medley" cause she sure has a lot of it under her belt and it will be all title tracks honestly, but instead she went for the meaningful songs of her (I her solo debut song, If her very first and still loved OST since 2008 till this day) the songs she likes (gravity) and the songs her fans likes which not necessarily the title tracks nor the most popular one for the public like blue, gravity, UR and Drawing Our Moments. Especially Drawing Our Moments, fans have been waiting for the live performance for 2 YEARS and she knew it since we always told her 😂 and she really made sure it all worth the wait hence the all out stance at the end. And props to dingo to also gave a spotlight background for that song too, that was the first time they did that kind of background

The lineup of songs are probably designed not to exhaust her voice. Taeyeon’s discography is not easy vocally. And She was singing for 20ish mins with barely any breaks between songs. She sang snippets of 16 tracks. Im surprised she didn’t show signs of being tired until the last few tracks. And only took 1 or 2 sips of water. So it made sense to save the more challenging big moment songs for towards the end.

Taeyeon is a chameleon with her voice. She built up her skills to sing any genre of songs she wants.

This was the very first live performance of Drawing Our Moments she ever sung. When i was watching the premiere of Killing Voice where we wouldnt know the length of the video and the songs that are going to be sung. I was like "damn she said UR was the last song, i guess we wont get DOM live again, its okay then UR is superb as well." But after UR and blowing us away with it, Taeyeon paused and said "Isnt it a pity if i just left like this?" I was like "NO WAYYYYY IS SHE GOING TO SING DOM?" DOM instrumentals starts playing and damn i was near crying and the fandom went crazy. I was speechless. She really prepared the one song that fans wanted to hear her sing live the most and saved it to the last like an encore and tribute to the fans. Drawing Our Moments was the song that accompanied me through 2020, through late nights, early mornings, bus rides and laying in bed alone. It was the one song i listened to ever since the teaser for it came out. It means so much to me and i know to many fans as well. Amazing. How much music means to people. I love Taeyeon and even 11 years of stanning her, i still love her and her music more than ever. Ofcourse i would be lying if i said i absolute love every single song she puts out but i am so proud and in awe of her growth as an artist, trying something new every time and listening to her exploring the different ways she uses to sing in each track, my jaw is on the floor. Shes truly a great artist not just in kpop but globally as well.

ahhh finally!! appreciation for low notes !!!! amost everyone just think that to be a good singer you need to hit them money notes not taking into account how being able to masterfully hit both high and lower notes speaks so much about an artist's technique

for Time Lapse, it's a song written and gifted to Taeyeon by the frontman of a Korean band called Nell. Taeyeon said in an interview that she deliberately learned to change her tone to better convey the mood of this particular song.

Time Lapse doesn't actually feature anyone 😅 the person she mentioned is kim jongwan (frontman of Nell) who gave her/composed for her this song after he enjoyed her cover of their song "time spent walking through memories" (they even allowed her to add this cover as a special track on her 1st full album as it was a fan favorite from her concerts)

Her choice of last song is my MOST favourite song of her. God I’m in tears…

knowing taeyeon, her singing time lapse with a more nasal, airy placement was most definitely intentional! i feel that sort of execution fits the theme of the song, which is about coming to terms with the memories of a past relationship. if you listen to the original, her voice just *almost* blends with the instrumental, which i think gives off that dreamy(?), distant feel of recalling the past.

I’ve watched many reactions to Taeyeon’s Dingo performance however, your reaction stands out in my mind. I’ve been her fan since 2014 witnessing over the years how she has grown as an artist to become a master of her voice so hearing your comments about her technique was refreshing. It was delightful to learn from someone who can recognize what Taeyeon does to produce her beautiful singing. I only follow SNSD but after hearing this informative reaction, I was compelled to subscribe in case your future reactions contain SNSD or the member’s solo releases. I watch lot of reactors to this video and one of them said that Taeng have so much tools on her voice and she knows what kind of voice she need to use in which song so yeah sometimes you can hear her bit nasal, sometimes she sing it so powerful, it depend on the song and I love that to be honest. Anyway, DOM is masterpiece and its my favorite song EVER! Thank you for reacting for Taeyeon~ 😄

Really good observation/analysis about Taeyeon's more nasally focused sound in Weekend. I completely agree with favoring her lower fuller sounds compared to the thinner, more light sounds. It's even more interesting to me, who has been a fan for 10+ years, to see her early singing start from very full and rich, transitioning to a more mixed/lighter texture. In 2015, she had a very nasal sound which I assume was from overuse during 2014 TTS era when she was straining + rhinitis. I think she started training her voice differently to be more sustainable? Her singing is very chameleon-like. It changes to adapt to the song and style, which I love.

I'm gonna say this until I'm blue in the face lol. Top 12 Emotional Singing! I think the IT Butterfly performance is a great one as well. I think those are mostly fancams but you can clearly hear her without all the bells and whistles.

Micah, there's a few moments in this performance that could have been tuned, and they left them alone. There's obviously compression and reverb, but I don't think Melodyne was used here. It's always impressive where they could have tuned and nobody would have noticed, but they didn't.

I’m also waiting for that R&B album for she has songs on each one her albums that hit that spot for me such as Gemini, Sweet Love, Wine, Lonely Night…Ling Taeyeon just as so much good music. For the Dingo performance I think the songs where strategically incorporating her most popular songs, fan favorites and just pacing for song 23 minutes straight with no real break and in really pleased with it. She is definitely a light-lyric soprano with a fairly decently developed lower register. There's no way a contralto or mezzo is gonna sound like her in their belting register no matter how much they lighten their mix. Beyonce, for one, is a good example of a mezzo. She has very good lows - deep and dark and her belting and HV are significantly darker than Taeyeon. And contralto is a rare voice type. You don't know find voices like those a lot, but Cher is an example. Do you believe in life after love?

I also lover her lower range more! and in my opinion not everyone can song well and stable in a lower voice so it's just good that she can sing in high and low voice.

the artist taeyeon mentions at 10:40 is Kim Jongwan the Lead singer and composer in the iconic indie Art Rock band Nell that anyone in SK loves but is not known internationally. He composed a song for her in the style of his music which is Time Lapse. he also gave her the chance to cover his most well known song Walking on Memories in the digital version of her Voice album.

You need to listen to taeyeon I got love and I love you like crazy

After going back to listen to IU's killing voice, it seems her vocals were surprisingly raw for most the set. Maybe a little verb. Im surprised that Tayaeon's version seems to have more post-processing/verb/delay. Maybe effects are much more an integral part of some of her songs, unlike IU's super delicate, intimate tone. Both can clearly sing without crutches.
