TAEYONG 태용 '샤랄라 (SHALALA)' MV - REACTION!! 

I feel like if anyone can truly embody the “NCT sound”, it’s Taeyong. I swear it’s like the whole group was centered around his personality lmao. NCT 127 reacted to it yesterday and he said that he wrote this entire song himself. Which I think is awesome.

You're right. Taeyong has had a lot of creative latitude in NCT (hes called The Idea Bank) Hes been very involved with defining the 127 look vibe & sound. & he has always written his own raps (over 50 writing credits). On his Solo debut Shalala is the most "song camped" of the tracks and a nod to vintage hip hop & kpop. Again you are right that the rest of the album is very diverse and more personal to him. He is credited with the lyrics on the other 6 songs and co composed them (he has worked side by side with several producer friends (royal dive squar & zayson) on his demos for a while now) so hes very hands on here.

I think if anyone knows Taeyong and NCT you knew to expect something out of the box and weird for his solo. He is literally the entire epitome of what NCT is as a brand which is NEO. I always knew he was the face of nct but now I'm fully realizing exactly why lol.

I’ve only ever seen two other mv’s that looked like an acid trip. That was something from like 9 or more years ago. Gdragon and also BB. The verse beat immediately made me think of a iconic song by Snoop Dog- DILIH. The only thing I’m not really a fan of is the random Anglo-Saxon person messy eating scenes popping up in SM mv’s. Now I’ll be honest and say that most of the Bside songs weren’t what I expected, but I like. Ruby is the best song on the album. But GHOST is his best solo song. Periodt.😁✌🏼

i 100% agree with you. i feel like he is just so himself with his writing that i would be able to tell very quickly if he didnt write was he was singing/rapping. his vibe is very him and kind of hard to explain but it just is. im really happy and proud of this album. i was a little nervous to listen to the songs because i wasnt sure what kind of story or vibe he was going to go with for this debut, but im glad he just went with his own vibe and not the vibe of whats trending or popular right now. i will forever stand by taeyong being the most neo of neos to ever neo.
