He doesn’t really take care of them TBh. A leader in kpop groups is the person that helps to keep everyone as 1 unit. To help everyone get along with each other and they also are the one the members go to if there is conflict between members or if there is anything they want to tell the higher ups (SM or whatever company the group is a part of). They also make sure that the members practice well and that they are ready to perform. Basically he makes them do their hw so é.g if the dance instructor gives them a dance he makes sure to double check if they actually practiced and if not he will help. All these other things taeyong does is out of his free will é.g buying the members stuff. However sometimes the company provides with some extra money to him so that if they are put and about they can grab some food

@@RB-nh1om leaders are also almost always at the front in media and the spokesperson of their group, there's a much higher responsibility to perform well since they represent their groups in official events. Take a look at big press conferences and which artists companies send, it's either the ones the public knows and/or adores or/and the ones who communicare the best and are highly eloquent and confident. When there's problems or mistakes staff go to leaders first so they can double check with their groups. Take Baekhyun as an example: he's the funny moodmaker and prankster in EXO but was a bit more more subdued and serious in SuperM cause he knew he was chosen leader and had to represent this experimental mixed-and-matched project group. There's sooo many groups where you can literally see how members refer to leaders to answer medias questions.

Honestly, I didn’t even notice Taeyong before I saw these clips of him taking care of his children, calming them down, counting them, and always putting them first. But after seeing his mom side and bubu side, I don’t think anyone can resist liking TY along with all 22 neos. Ok for people who doubt Taeyong. Duh obviously he isn't dealing with all 22members 24/7 each has their own leader etc BUT when he sees them during joint promos or joint projects like nct 2020 he's caring for and leading all of them. Behind the scenes he still leads all of them to some extent as many have stated he is their role model. People do come to him regarding, music,dance or other advice, and as we have seen he's happy to so that regardless of which unit it is that sought him out. Lastly when he's around any of the members during promos or not he has consistently shown on and off camera to care for the members more affectionately similar to how a parent does which is why he's called the dad or mom of 22 children. Ok now find something better to do than downplay Taeyong.
