Tafsir of Ayat An-Nur (The Verse of Light) ~ Dr. Yasir Qadhi 

I learnt it by heart listening to your perfect recitation. I read it on my daughter’s grave. We lost her at the age of 24 in 2017. I pray with all my heart that May He have mercy on her and fill her grave with Noor. Please pray for my daughter Sophia Gulae Mahmood. May Allah keep her surrounded with His Noor till I meet her again. She was a great daughter, a loving sister, a loyal friend and a happy newly-wedded wife. I miss her everyday. Mom

Ya allah, Allahu Akbar who gave me chance to hear this lecture

"Noorun ala noor = a double light. The light of the Quran and the light of the purity of the heart of the believer. Both add to one another and that is why pure hearts find Islam even if they are non muslim. A pure fitrah is eventually guided to Islam because they have noor and then they see the noor of the Quran and the two are put together - "noorun ala noor"."

A CRYSTAL LIGHT IS ALL WORDS OF ALLAH, WHO IS SPOKEN

In this lecture, for the remainder of the verse, Shaykh YQ only gives one main interpretation out of many others the scholars have given throughout our 14 centures of Islam. He stresses this point, in a lecture in this year, to show the vast knowledge that is out there just on this one verse alone. He also mentions, may Allaah protect him, that this verse is the one the scholars of Islam have commented on the most in Islamic history. Allaah knows best.

The proper translation to the barren language we unfortunately speak, is luminescence. Even in that, is boundless wisdom.

This is incredible ayat of Quran, there r so many hidden meanings.. Its about waves, refraction of light, super imposed waves, there is something about biology , olive oil which is free from east and west. Which needs no dependency on light ie sunrise and sunfall means free from photosynthesis.. Correct me plz if i am wrong. . Allah bless me..
