‘Tagore Beyond Horizon’ is a humble initiative for making a cultural bridge between Bengal and UAE & the Arab World.
Bengal, is considered the most acclaimed & celebrated cultural part of India since years. Great personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Satyajit Ray, Salil Chowdhury to name a few, are stalwarts in their fields, who significantly contributed in the cultural revolution of India.
The journey starts with Shri Rabindranath Tagore, the great Nobel Laureate Poet , who composed the National Anthem for India & Bangladesh . He was respected as the Bard of Bengal and was a polymath, who had spun a revolution in the field of Arts & Literature, and made indelible impressions.
THE TEAM :
1. Dev Chakraborty - Music Director & Curator of the Project
Being an Indian Expat living in UAE since 2008 and involved actively in cultural practices with Music, Poetry etc. here in UAE, has initiated this endeavour with a collaboration and active support by an eminent Arab poet Dr. Shihab Ghanem.
2. Dr Shihab Ghanem - Eminent & Celebrated Arab Poet & Translator
An Eminent Emirati Poet in the UAE & Arab Region and a recipient of numerous accolades including Tagore Peace Award in 2013 at Kolkata. He has collaborated to make Tagore Songs to be translated in Arabic language keeping the tune and meaning of the original unaltered.
3. Suchetha Satish - Guinness World Records Holder and accomplished Singer
She is a Dubai based Indian singer and child prodigy in her teens who had set the Guinness World Records in 2021 for "Most languages sung in a concert" (sang in 120 languages in 7 hours & 20 minutes) and also the World record holder for the "Longest live singing concert by a child".
