mr bruce willis' brother is a bit rough on this baby (especially when packing it back), i don't treat mine that harsh especially around the 3 fins fold area (where they touch the bottom of the board with their tips). i wrap my fins' tips into the foam material to lessen the pressure on the body of the board. i'm even thinking to buy some bits of rubber sheets to protect the board from fins even more when folded. it's a pity no drip rings are not included, i could have definitely used them yesterday - i was never this wet before when my previous paddles had the rings on them. otherwise i love my board/boat so far 💙. i walked with it for 15-20 minutes on my back and it still felt okay. let's see about it on next adventures and in tandem use

Today I bought this SUP and when I went home I discovered that instead of a removable fin there were three small fixed fins. I didn't like that very much. I suppose that three fins give it stability (but if they are small not sure also) but everything else seems to me disadvantages. With a removable fin I can put a much bigger one than the three fixed fins and have more speed and better direction in the sea and in the river, I simply change my fin for a small one for the river. So I have returned the SUP to Decathlon and I have bought the same model online but with a single removable fin, it has been a little more expensive but I think it is a good decision since I want it to be all-situation SUP and if at any moment I break a fin is not a drama, I just remove the broken one and put a new one. I feel that having the removable fin only has advantages and it is better to SUP like this. This is not warned in advance, that there are two models of it. What do you think about this?

Thanks Chema, I'll pass your feedback on to the product team to make sure that our communication is improved, while takng your feedback into account. Initial 2021 version was delivered with a single removable fin, while we updated our 2022 sup yaks with 3 small fixed fins for a better compromise between SUP & Kayak. We hope you enjoy your time on the water.

@@TAHEsport Thanks for your answer! It is very good you take time for this. These kinds of things are also what make you a good brand to invest in. My teory is the same like this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s85MpE42xCw.html

three fins are an advantage in any current or when you hit the shallows. Many boards use a 3 fin setup and having them fixed is a plus.

@@TAHEsport This is interesting to know. I just bought mine at REI in July 2024 and it has the single removable fin. Maybe that's why it was on sale. I think for my purposes it'll be fine. It would be helpful if the video showed removal of the single large fin, i.e. is it preferable do take it off before or after deflation.

I paddle in rivers that have shallow areas. The Sup-Yak fins being fixed concerns me since they can't be removed. I scrape bottom once or twice almost every week so if I buy a Sup-Yak, what are the odds of damaging one of the fixed fins or damaging the board where the fins attach?
@gloppy101
@gloppy101 Год назад
yes, the fin is removable. I use a 4" flex fin when in rivers and it works great. I use my 9" fin in deeper water like lakes, ocean.

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have Tahe 10.6 2021 Model and it only had 1 super long fin, I'm looking to add the two side fins and change the middle fin to a smaller one. I just need to know the placement of the 3 fins from each other. Trying to copy the format. Thank you!!!!! PS love the board it has been awesome but need to be able to go in low water.

I wish the seat was a tad higher and the foot bracing pad is too narrow to engage the hips properly

you will not regret it, ours just gets hammered, we never take the seat and step off, not in the way for suping, and you can change mid trip if your calves are killing . . .

I wonder how tuff they really are they seem a bit thin for the material….
@TAHEsport
@TAHEsport 3 года назад
The material is very durable, similar to that found on whitewater rafts which must withstand a lot of impact with rocks and abrasion with rocks and gravel.
