Congrats! I bought one too last year. I had to call all over to find one. Just like you i called Bass pro shops and found 2 they had just ordered for customers but they didn't pick them up. I drove from orlando to Ft lauderdale Dania beach location and bought it on the spot. came with bimini top, power steering and the 75 HP engine. I put my on depth finder on. I did wish i had the tow bar installed now. You are absolutely right about that gas tank. Its very deceiving. I did run out once in Sarasota. I was 50 yards from the pump smh. It all worked out but i never let it go past half now. One min it says full and the next its on E. I find with a a moderate run for 2-3 days straight I can go on 1 tank of gas. GReat boat. Had it in the intercoastal waters and the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. I see years of enjoyment in my future. YOURS too. All of you that just ordered it too. :Plenty of storage. Even more once we purchased a T-Bag for the Bimini top. We bring our towables and floaties to the sandbar and have fun on the waters all day long.
Thanks! That's awesome and I'm glad you had the awareness to get it on the spot when you had the chance. That's tough running out of gas 50 yards from the pump! Those tanks are tricky. I haven't taken it out on salt water yet. We have a few nice lakes in NC but am planning to take out to the coast this summer a few times. Been trying to keep it away from salt water for the first year but I think it's time now. Great choice on the 75hp engine too! It's definitely easy to spend hours on the water and not even realize it. I agree and believe great times are ahead for us with this boat. Stay safe and happy boating!
Thank you so much for your video. I will be picking up my T16 next week, but like you mention, there are very few (any?) reviews of the T16, so it's great to see your positive experience with the boat.
Mines being made sometime in the next few weeks! Bought it from the same cabelas! Glad to see someone do such a thorough review of it, can’t wait to get out on the water!
Thanks for posting, just ordered this boat a few weeks ago from the same location. Still have a while until it comes in. Please post more videos, my wife and I have been searching everywhere for vids about this boat.
Very good review and I appreciate it. Wife and I looking at this model for our first boat purchase. No kids so would be ideal for us probably. My 4 cyl ranger ecoboost could tow this no problem too. Thanks again for doing this video. 👍.
Thank you for taking the time. Great video with valuable information. I love that you included tips for backing up a trailer. That's definitely an important part of boating and often overlooked until we get to the launch pad.
You're welcome. I'm thankful it brought value. Yes, it's definitely an important part to consider and is often overlooked as you said. Thanks for watching and happy boating!
Very nice! Was considering this boat, but looking at some other options since our main focus will be saltwater. Really seems like one of the nicest boats in that price range.
Newbie here, thinking about getting one of these... thanks so much for the Excellent video! Very clear narration, shots/views of various things, etc. I think you helped me decide... ;-) Suggestion... would love to see a follow up video of launching it, and then out on the water. Thanks again!
I think it was somewhere around 1,300 lb Mercury come out with a new 60R outboard motor would be perfect for this boat I would rather have the 60R than the 75 all in all a very good entry boat
I looked at both of those closely. It actually came down to those two. I felt the E16 had a better layout for lounging but the T16 has a better layout for performance and water sports. I am glad I got the T16 but would highly recommend getting the 75hp engine no matter which boat you choose. I don't think you will lose either way. Thanks for watching and please keep us posted on what you decide.
I was looking at the Bayliner also but apparently that m Hull is terrible for handling.... Instead of carving corners it just skips around them and slides... I happen to catch a review where they were driving both of the boats the Tahoe and the Bayliner and that convinced me to stay away from the bayliners.
It's funny you mentioned the spots in the fiberglass I remember last year somebody posted about it on the tahoe t16 fb page. Believe it was on the port side. Prob the same boat lol. Hoping to order one next week. Seeing the long wait time is gonna suck. Black bottom with kiwi graphics is gonna look killer tho
Yea mine were port side as well. Could be lol. It can be a small world at times. Yea the long wait times are tough but it's going to be sweet when you get it. Early congrats to you on it! Keep us posted it'll possible. Thanks for watching!
Nice video but still one question though. I couldn't really tell or clearly see if, the motor being up and the sun "roof" folded down, sticks out higher up than the roof of your truck. Some underground parking garages have those max height pass-through.
Thank you. The engine position and the Bimini Top (fancy way of saying the "roof") position as it sits in the video is lower than the top of the truck. Height wise, it would fit in a garage the truck could fit in. Although some people do this, I would not recommend traveling with the Bimini top I'm the up position. I hope that helps!
@@liveyourfree thanks for answering my question man👍🏽. Now I really like the boat even more that it's gonna fit in underground garages. I have a neighbor who owns a dodge ram so if that fits through so will the entire boat on a trailer.
Do you store yours at your residency or elsewhere? I bought a 2024 model today and unfortunately live in an HOA neighborhood with not much space. My step 2 is finding a home for it that's secure and affordable.
I just bought this bought(also our 1st boat) and really like it. Mine came with a cover which I find very cumbersome to put on. We have rented dock space at a local marine and am not sure if I should be trying to cover it between uses. A boater I met there mentioned that the seats have oils in them to keep them soft and It would be good to protect them from the sum. However, it's very difficult and time consuming to put on the cover after you have docked the boat. Its easier when its out of the water, but we like having it docked as we will use it more. Just wondering what your thoughts are and if I really will have issues with the seats if I don't cover.
Congratulations in the new boat! I would HIGHLY recommend you keep it covered and out of the sun as much as you can when not using it. I definitely get where you are coming from with the cover being so cumbersome. I don't enjoy it either. I keep dealing with it because I don't want the constant sun messing the nice interior the boat has. I recommend keeping the seats wiped down with a seat cleaner and sealant. It will maintain the brand new look very well. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
Hadnt seen this video before so i had to come over and drop a like and a comment as well. Not a bad price for this boat imho and its nice looking! I really like the triton 186 fish hunter they have at bass pro/cabelas. It def has the power im looking for with the 150 or optional 175 outboard but nowhere to lounge which is something my wife i both want which took this boat off the table for us. How does the tahoe do on smooth open water? My wife and i both really like pontoons but the power isnt really there and ofcourse being a pontoon isnt very nimble. Very safe....just not quick or nimble. I def have alot more research to do!
Thanks for the video, quick question though. My husband usually docks the boat and then gets out to get the trailer. Do you have any tips on how to tie it up without scratching the fiberglass. It seems the curve of the boat isn't compatible with tying up to a dock. Could you send a pic of what you do??
I agree with you. I use bouys on the side when tying the boat down. It helps a lot. Thanks for watching! I will be sure to take a pic the next time I go out.
Great video. I’m looking for one currently. Was thinking about the bayliner element but saw it had some water retention issues in the hull. This looks like a better choice for sure. Any thoughts on towing and launching with a 2wd v6 tacoma? Thanks
I looked at the Bayliner as well. The hull does make a huge difference. I did a sea trial on the Bayliner and there is a clear difference in performance and handling. The 2wd v6 Tacoma will be just fine. It's a very light boat. Just make sure you have good tires for when the boat ramp is wet.
@@liveyourfree thanks for the fast reply. I have a couple more questions if you don’t mind. Is there anchor storage on the bow of the boat? I didn’t see any. Also, I noticed you said you bought the boat in SC but live in NC. Was the dealer able to register the boat in NC for you or did you have to register it an the trailer twice? Also are you able to go local for service like you would a car or do you have to go back down to South Carolina? Sorry for all the questions. I’m looking for my first boat and you seem very knowledgeable. Thanks.
@@overheadsurf no worries at all. Yes, I keep the anchor in the middle compartment. I did have to purchase it separately. It does not come with one. I had to take it to the registration office in NC myself to get the trailer registered but they took care of every for the boat. You just use your buyers order as the registration until it comes in the mail. It will take a few weeks so don't be alarmed if that happens. Ask as many questions as you need. Glad to help. Also, you can get it serviced anywhere. I go to the bass pro shop in Cary, NC since it's closer than the SC Cabelas. It helps to take it to a tracker boat/tahoe dealer
@@liveyourfree thanks so much. I live in florida but can’t find any boats in stock down here. I might have found one in South Carolina that’s why I asked about the registration. On the Tahoe website is says that the length of the boat with the swing tongue is 19 feet. I want to make sure it’ll fit in my garage that’s why I’m looking at the 16 and not the 18. Do you happen to know the overall length and height at storage? Thanks again for all your help.
Thanks for the video! I just ordered mine last week and the wait is killing me! How long do you find a tank of gas goes on this boat with the 75... I know it’s a smaller tank is all
Congrats! You will love it! I have to tell you i have been really impressed with how long gas holds in this boat. It's hard to say exactly how long just because it depends on how you drive it, how much you idle, how often, how often you drive it at higher speeds, etc....a long answer to say I don't know I guess 😆. I can tell you i don't fill it up every trip. I wait unless it shows 1/4 tank. I have pushed it one time on E for a long time and it didn't run out of gas. The gas gauges are tricky though. I've gone from what I thought was a full tank to a half tank in two minutes. Please let me know how you enjoy it!
Thanks for doing this. Well done. I searched all over, also, for videos and there wasn't much out there. I ended up ordering a T16 for a May delivery. I'm curious about the ball you have on your hitch receiver - a 2" ball work ok with the trailer or do you have something else? Thanks if you have time to comment. Appreciate you.
What are the dimensions of the console trays. I'm buying one later this year and am looking to add a GPS and fish finder and want to install it on the right side of the console. Thanks for the info.
Hey my friend thank you for your channel quick question for you And sorry to ask you what was the out door price no down payment i’m trying to find my budget and monthly payments for something like that we are a family of four thank you
Thats a good question. I honestly don't know the sure answer to that. I think it may be too much for it. I would imagine you would want to stick closer to a 115HP. That's what the T18 competitors are doing last time I looked. Again though thats a little beyond my knowledge base
@@liveyourfree I live in Las Vegas (Yes, Lake Mead is low, but Lake Havasu is only two hours away!) and the local Bass Pro Shops have two 2023's in stock (at least their website says they do) and both are about $31,000 give or take. As a first time boat owner, I'm really interested. I don't need a 20 foot deck or pontoon boat as it's just the three of us. This looks perfect!
on the Starboard side by the Helm what is the chrome fixture just ahead of the E in Tahoe. No one has mentioned this in any video. Is it the Horn? Thanks!
@@RONALDB62 sorry. I believe it's a faux vent that is more for looks unless jts an actual vent for the inside of the boat...I haven't paid that much attention to it until your post
@@2genders oh I gotcha. You did say "under way"...completely missed it. It can get rough at times but not uncomfortable. Whoever is sitting in the front is actually going to feel it the most. You can definitely tell it is a lighter boat but knowing that going in helped me to set the expectation.
The dash says 45mph I believe but I have gotten up to 40 at full throttle on calm waters. The 75hp has plenty of juice for tubing and water sports for a small family of four. If you have 4 full grown adults and one in the water, it will drag more than normal
Not sure. I was planning to take it out this summer. I've only been on lakes with it. I wouldn't go too far out with it into the ocean or bay. I believe it will be able to handle a good amount of it as I have been on some larger lakes with it but I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing it too far
@@josephlegrand8520 yes. It does well and these were with some aggressive 2 foot waves. It was a lot of fun but its not something I would push too far out in. I say this primarily because a single 75hp engine can get overwhelmed pretty quickly in rough enough waves
It's not terribly difficult but it could definitely be easier. It's preferable to have two people do it and it would be a piece of cake. One person is doable but it is a challenge and requires some strength
I was wondering the same thing. I have a 8 foot wide garage door that the opening is actually about 7 foot 8 inches. Looks like the boat would fit but the trailer is wider than the boat... In my case, can't put it in the garage.
