Most people remember this for it's exceptional martial artistry and Jet Lis phenominal performances. But if your get older this film is not entirely about fighting as it used to be when you were a kid. This is a realistic and insightful movie about human character. Their personality and how they behave when the oppertunity is present. I have seen many characters like Jing bo. True classic.
@@morganbrown392 Donnie yen has it's own style but overall, Donnie is my no1 Chinese martial artists. You should watch his deadly drunken style Kung Fu in "Hero among Heroes".
Yes agree...27 years ago i had think like you that tien bo "looks like kung lao".. I don't no why actually but maybe because his hat, costume and kungfu...or maybe tien bo character has inspired bon tobias to create kung lao in MK2 in 1994 ?
Amazing martial arts film, the Tai Chi philosophy and most of all, the lessons to be learn from. How an amazing opportunity can turn you into an evil and greedy person. How a life changing event can break you down mentally. And then how you rise from it all by understanding the philosophies of Tai Chi. JUnbao only wanted his friend Chin Bo to come back to being a good person again but it was not meant to be. Great movie!
Chin Bo's thirst for powers in the end lead him to corruption as his best friend was force to stopped him. You can tell Junbao didn't really want to kill him despite knowing he could never get the old Chin Bo back.
Nostalgic! This was my fav movie when i was a kid, I watched this a hundred times before on vhs. I feel like i know how to kung fu every time after I watch it 😅
Prontos boa tarde clientes que assiste este canal, gostaria de solicitar a produção, nos proximos final de semana, busque no fundo de bau o filme Tai Chi Master-Junbao vs Chin Bo.
Really my Whitfield movie in Chinese film, I watched since when we were using a Black & white TV.. Lols. As per the Heroes, and Lessons; Jet li(Jin bo) express his ultimate martial arts skills to oppress his child friend from the corrupt Governor Lord lu, so interesting... While chin bo shows how power(opportunity) change people suddenly....Best movie that I don't get tired of watching
When you use so much energy that you can shift your body weight to fly it's actually something known to the people of the past using fighting skills, I strongly believe everything was lost as the generations passed on which is sad.
I doubt it. As someone else mentioned it's more of a psychotherapy book, meant to calm his aggressiveness. Although a genius, chin bo wouldn't learn much from it, since the book basically goes against his ideals. He'd probably take a look at it for ten seconds and throw it in the trash, cuz it doesn't actually teach him any kung fu, and that's all he cares about at the end of the day.
In my opinion, the sound effects guys were smacking a small ham with a two-by-four, when they probably should have been hitting a side of beef with a baseball bat.
If I have to rate the best final fight I would choose Donnie Yen's "Hero among Heroes", I love how Donnie Yen execute those kicks, the the awesome sequence afterwards when he uses the drunken style kung fu.
Tai Chi is the SLOWEST EXERCISE, that is why if it is used with forced especially in ARTS, there was great effects to the opposition as well as to the user. The one who do the offense will have great damage than the one who the defense. 🙂
The book hold no secret nor any martial teachings. It was just a natural philosophy text that jun bo extrapolated meaning and created a martial arts around it. Remaining calm, using your opponent’s strength against them and natural flow was already known to them. He just used it as the main core of his new style.
Junabo gained an army if he wanted it, but walked away because he wasn't about that. He wasnt about power, money, position as Chin bo. Chin bo tried attain respect through all of this, even killing his leader. He lost everything he gained including the only friend and brother he ever knew. This w is just so sad and its a Commentary on todays world. I love this movie good v evil, the just against the unjust, right v wrong. Chin bo had to be destroyed though i am sure to the grief of Jinabo, who just wanted him to come home.
