@Most roads must accept. In the art of Tai Chi, "fighting without mistakes" refers to the concept of executing movements and techniques flawlessly during combat or self-defense situations. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper form, balance, and timing while engaging with an opponent. By avoiding mistakes such as improper footwork, weak stances, or telegraphing movements, practitioners aim to maximize their effectiveness and minimize vulnerabilities in combat. The goal is to achieve a state of flow and harmony, where movements become natural and instinctive, allowing for efficient and effective self-defense.

Yes, and no, Sir. I have also heard of a Japanese sensei speaking of higher efficiency of forward moving when relying o forces of internal retraction than on the external ones. Forces cannot be generated from an empty spacew, so, Kwa cannot be just a hollow space between the legs and the body. Rather, It has to do with somethin related to the fascial "skelet" of the body mentioned in materiolals on the phenomenon of Chinkuchi by Okinawan masters. Anyway, that snapping strip isa good method to prove the phenomenon opf Kwa. Many thanks for that. Best regards. Paul.68?

that s why 太極二十年不出门, translate: don't attempt fighting using it unless after a minimum of 20 years of practice. ( even then....)

And that's how some teachers keep the ceiling on their students. In my experience it took 3 years of training before I could use it in combat.

Thanks for the video. I have a question if you don't mind. Is the understanding then that the power generation is from moving back into a closed state from an open state, versus moving from a closed state into an open one? In this case you seemed to be describing "release" as moving back into closed from an open/stretched state. Do I understand you correctly? thanks!

keep it simple. Create a stretch. Release it. (simple is not easy)

Un point sur état ouvert et état fermé, il me semble que les 2 sont ouverts, mais 1 a l'apparence fermé. Et plutôt que de parler des kwas , l'articulation coccyx fémur ne serait ce pas plus clair et précis ???

Thanks for the video! My question is: if the stretch is accessed by release (sōng), how can the stretch be *released* to generate power? I understand the first part pragmatically, as I can feel the stretch thanks to sōng'ing the tissues. And I understand the second part theoretically, as you show clearly with the elastic band; but I can't give my body the right instruction to release that stretch to generate power. Any help is appreciated.

You can open and close the Qua 'till kingdom come and even talk the "Sung" but if your feet are not rooted while borrowing power from the earth, then your posture is Double/Single Weighted and you're committing the Classic error that twenty years of practice will not correct. Yes, you can talk the "Sung" but can you walk the walk and manifest genuine Fa Jin and Sticking energy?
