Taika Waititi chats to Ben and Liam about the Easter eggs he sprinkled throughout Thor: Ragnarok and the inspiration behind the character he plays in the film. Subscribe: tripj.net/151BPk6
Absolute legend! I remember when he rolled through our home town in NZ in a van with Bruce lee painted on the side. We were screaming our heads off as you do haha and he pulled over and jumped out to say hello to us. Real humble guy!
err, maori people are not "indigenous" to new zealand. they only arrived in new zealand afew hundred years before europeans. also maoris are nothing at all to do with australia so not sure why you even mention that?
Not usually into marvel movies but far out this one was awesome! Korg was definitely my favourite character 'I'm not really that scary, unless you're scissors of course' lmfao. I love the humour in this film, it was so perfect, and awesome to have a mix of Aussie and Kiwi references in there.
I live KORG's character so much! He was a 'show stealer' in the whole movie. I hope they don't kill him off and to see MORE of him in the future. He should have his OWN comic or storyline which would be cute...
'Loki' the best part of the movie xD. This was definitely more of a comedy to me it seemed, as well as showing the true power of Thor before the Thanos fight.
K Road bro. prolly where Mark Hunt started life as a bouncer. But these are mostly pure Kiwi, not Aussie references, cept for the Holdens....most non Kiwis/Aussies won't even know what a Holden is! Sweet as bro #MadeInNewZealand
Kieran Clarke' I was having this discussion the other day with my mum. She lives in Perth I live in NZ. She said aussies get it coz that line is from the movie The Castle but kiwis get it coz its from the Mite 10 ad
This is the internet. Most people on it are American and don't necessarily know there is even a difference between New Zealand and Australia -- we get left off half the world maps because we look so insignificant down in the bottom right corner. And this video's title says "Aussie references" and the first one they talk about is Auckland nightclub bouncers.
Can people use common sense. Like 1st yes there is NZ references in this. 2nd The videos title says it’s only Aussie References not NZ as well. 3rd Kiwi and Maori are 2 different things. Kiwi is the people who Are from colonisation as well as people who do have Maori heritage. Maori is people who were owned New Zealand before the colonisers came.
Nathaniel Johnson holden car names for spaceships and aboriginal flag are both Aussie recerences. He put in references to both NZ and Aust. And yes we all know his Kiwi
This is how cultural and political aspects should be handled in films, as quiet, humble little Easter eggs that only serve to add an inexplicable substance rather than drown out a subordinate story secondary to SJW bullshit. Brilliantly executed, Taika.
Are you telling me that when Ragnaschlock turned Brunnhilde, originally a feminine Germanic woman who has to be saved by her beloved man Sigmund from a dragon, into an independent, bisexual woman of color who needs no man, it wasn't SJW? I'm sorry, pal, but your tinny brain didn't realize that you've been bamboozled by Waitit.
Imagine thinking this sh1t movie was not w0ke. Why did Mr. Waititi think it was important to represent some bouncers he met somewhere in New Zealand, but not Scandinavians, whose history gave him the source material to make the (bad) movie out of?
@@ederanged7960 debate my points, dipsh1t. Imagine being anti woke and thinking this movie was good, let alone not woke. That's if you were saying transvesties aren't women but would sleep with them anyway.
