Tail Light Overlays On My 22 WRX 

Excellent video! I actually have been going back and forth on this exact mod for some time. It's mine is white having different accents of darker areas. I personally believe makes the car look better and I'm still not 100% sold on this. I do have Taylor's turn light and so I've got the bright diode dynamic LEDs for where the signals used to go, which are super duper Bright now. I would actually be willing to see what it looks like so I might actually pick it up and give it a shot. Thank you for being our guinea pig 😁🙏🤘

I say keep them OEM. It looks cleaner. They really did a good job with the new tail lights.

Personally not a fan of people doing this mod on the stock VA gen. tail lights, but I think this is a game changer on the VB and looks amazing!

replacing the incandescent amber bulbs with much brighter LEDs will make a big difference as well if you are concerned about visibility

I like it. I have them on mine. I also added the tail as turn module and changed the turn signals to reverse lights.

I still like the new taillights but now that you mentioned they have a civic look I can't unsee that for some reason. The subtle change make it look better though.

Only thing I’d add is make sure you spray your fingers with the solution, BEFORE you remove the film from the backing. This prevent you from getting finger prints in the adhesive

Very cool mod. This gives the car the blacked out look and makes it more aggressive. Keep it.

I know your on the fence with them but they are pretty cool! Defiantly changes how it looks.

I was tempted to buy overlays. Now I actually prefer OEM look. It might look good on a white, wrb etc but maybe not on the black and magnetite. just my opinion. keep up the good work though

I like the OEM look on my WRB, BUT those do look good on some colors. I think they look killer and your color and the black. It looks good on white as well.

Keep them on it looks way better than the oem look!

I went with the turn as tail and extra reverse light. With the 15% tint the overlays would be tough to back up.

Now the taillights matches the beautiful black plastic bumper. 😂 jkd, love the car

I agree, I never liked that waviness in the tint. Makes it look sorta cheap imo. Looks okay from 15ft away. Could you use window tint instead? It is glass smooth.

Any chance you can make a video on how to tap into the break light?

I did a light gloss smoke on mine cause I didn't want the really dark look.

I love the stuff you did with the last wrx tail lights. Straight up custom DIY stuff that was a one off. This mod looks good too. I've been debating FOR YEARS to put a smoked decal on the white part of my 16 wrx tails. Lol

Looks better stock. That’s just me though.
