Tailgating Stone with Moritz Dump Trailer and F 150

I love tailgating with my dump trailer . It’s nice to get a rough grade then finish it off nice with a machine . Can take some getting use to but when you get it it’s handy

Mike, there are things you do which I don't believe you get enough credit for. Sure you are a great husband and loving father. You cut some nice fire wood and lumber. But you are a true master spreading rock, whether it's 3A or your beloved 2A, it is an honor watching your vids spreading stone. Thank you. And your backing up with a trailer brings tears to my eyes.

Another great video of what's possible. And as Bob Barker used to say, "and all this can be yours, if the price is right"... starting with about $50-100k for even a decent used tracksteer and mini-excavator (so many variables). Plus the time, and having the skills. And add in the dump trailer and pickup (or hiring an operator to bring and dump a truckload). So if folks don't already have the equipment and they need such work done, this may help them understand why it "costs so much" for someone to come do it. That operator then also has to bring in the equipment (more time and fuel), unload it, use it, and load it back up. Then they have to maintain the machines--and usually they're buying still more capable/expensive machines to handle perhaps daily work and a range of tasks beyond what even DIY folks might do. It's certainly great if one has the equipment (even lesser versions) and the time and talent (even if only a fraction of Mike's) to do it all themselves. That's indeed what Mike promotes, and he does it so well. Folks can learn so much here. I just thought it an opportune time to give attention to it all from the perspective of someone who may have to hire someone instead. We can all be stung to hear a proposed price. And if that hired person does the job well, note that they may cost more than other folks and be hard to schedule. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. And a video like this shows how much value you could be getting for what some may propose "should be a simple job". :-)

Thanks Mike, that was fun with some really good camera angles, the drive is coming along great and will hopefully need less maintenance in the future, the land plane is a great tool. If anyone wants to learn how to reverse a trailer the trick is to start with a toy, tow vehicle with steering wheel and trailer attached. You are able to see what happens with different steering inputs and this works with any combination of trailers. I had a lego tractor as a boy and I wanted to know how to reverse as it seemed like magic when I watched others, so I hitched up a trailer and learnt. Sounds a bit silly but it works, these days I get a round of applause at the boat ramp. Happy tractoring everyone:)

Mike from what I have see on RU-vid videos of fellows backing up a trailer, you got them beat by a mile. You’re the best I have seen. I can’t backup a small trailer behind my 4Runner into my driveway without having to make at least two or three corrections.

Here's one for you. Does anyone remember what the borough maintenance used to put over the Rock when they made alleys. Was it coal Tar or oil? That's going back to the fifties and '60s. I still remember the red brick roads and the kerosene lanterns.

really cant beat a landplane and a tracker

I got a wireless winch control from Harbor Freight for 35 bucks and hooked up to my dump trailer hyd pump and it works great . I did have to add a diode block to get it to work right but it was no big deal. I haul my mini excavator and skidloader in my dump trailer and it helps to dump the trailer a little when going up the ramps. I carry the remote in the machine and raise or lower as I'm loading . Nice for tailgating too but I could use a little more practice at that .

You needed Ol Blue to do that rock hauling. I realize it needs repairs but it will save you money in the long term vs having rock delivered etc. Plus future WV work.
