Veerapans associates were actually only 4 or 5 people throughout in which only 2 of them decides everything - Veerapan himself and his very close friend Sethukuli govindan who was distant relative to Veerapan and been traveling alongside veerpan since age 12 or 13 ! The rest are workers from local tribe who worked under Veerapan helping him to cut and carry sandle trees and for daily wages ( it is reported veerpan always paid more than what they asked for ) Most of people who got arrested for being know as veerpan associates are actually innocent people who had to survive day to day - they were pretty much wage workers and hunters ( their only source of surving ) Since police Started to arrest them and charge them with fake cases and treat them mercilessly in name of interrogation to catch veerapan , the misuse of power and authority and the approach of police which triggered Veerapan - And what followed was series of consequences ! Action and reaction .
Truth is Nobody could even get close to catch veerapan - even when they had him in firing sight he was clever enough to escape ! Veerapan had a lot of support throughout the region - police had to cross the limits and justice & had go against law to show their dominance over Veerapan - Veerapan was never even close of getting caught , he was even extremely rare to spot ! with all due intelligence collected from a period of time - every police operations lead by any officers were failure and led to no where ! ! Not even a single veerpan associate was ever attacked by police - they only caught the left outs of the gang which veerpan himself avoided that it would lead him exposed of being caught ! Even The killing of Veerpana brother Arjuna was that he intentionally came out for treatment and not because of some police operation all the other police officers were largely failure - had Vijay Kumar did not use thier preceders intelligence the way he did to chart a way to end Veerapan , He would have never been caught ! Infact had he escaped that poisoned setup he definitely would be impossible to corner ever again ! With all due respect to Vijay Kumar sir, as many have pointed out in these comments, it was Shankar Bidri sir who reduced the brigands army to a few by undertaking daring operations. Not to forget Ashok Kumar sir, Bawa sir who equally supported him. In addition every Karnataka top cop who was in the operation do not miss out to mention Shakeel Ahmed , a young daring officer who was instrumental in almost getting up to veerappan posing as an arm's dealer. Ofcourse there was Harikishna sir as well and Srinivas who worked right in the middle of veerappans area, setting up hospital and even convincing veerappans sister to work as s nurse. What followed was gory but these are heroes who worked selflessly. Please do watch the series "Attahasa" a TV 9 presentation or any individual interview of Ashok Kumar sir on veerappans episode. There are many more unsung heroes who contributed both from TN and Karnataka. Scores of inspectors and constables from Karnataka who lost their lives and their family was given a megre compensation. Shankar Bidri sir got not only a good compensation to these families but also a govt job to one member of the deceased family.

In 1991 DFO srinivas had given a work for her she was working as nerse in his clinic and also he was collecting information through her some villagers and also arjuna whose brother of virappan spreaded a negativity against DFO srinivas then veerappan planned to kill DFO srinivas and also he ordered to her sister to suicide

I like the way you said about ltte..our own cousins or whatever..😊..Having said that.,have much respect for Mr.vijay kumar..but veerapan was killed in an ambush set covertly by the stf..it was not a fight..they were unable to locate his position, after so many failed attempts..they did this as a last resort.he is comparing these personal to lrrp ..long range recce patrol units..you cant compare these police men with the brave troops..he is a good man..and he is not taking this credit himself, also giving it to the ex personal served overthere.i personally met Mr.Sanjoy Arora when he was a head of armed police chennai..it was one on one meeting, he signed and approved my first rfid project.sadly i dint know that he served in stf at that point of time..
