It's fantastic that you've found some great off-the-beaten-path temples! They're usually not found in guidebooks because there are just so many temples all over the place, and the guidebooks just cover the main ones. One of my favorites is Bishan Temple in Neihu, which has stunning views of the city.
Oh they are so beautiful! It was always cool to stumble upon them! I don't think we made it to that one! Next time we visit we will have to look out for it!
It's impressive that you noticed the details of the carvings in the temple and liked them! Thank you for taking us on a trip to Taipei, and thank you for giving Taipei good comments! I like that you list all the details in the description column. Thank you very much for your recommendation and sharing! Great job again! 👍🥰🙌
*這是優質頻道,希望大家多關照,請幫忙分享出去* And thank you for also appreciating Taiwan's beautiful art and temples!! Taiwan is so beautiful and has such a rich culture, we're happy to see so many other people that care about it too! :D
Your travel video showcased the hidden gems of Taipei beautifully! By the way, have you come across the new V4 of the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane? It's designed to make your travel organization more seamless and convenient, just like your video portrayed.
I really love your vlog! Can’t imagine how hard working u edited this film! I really appreciate u like taiwan! Thx for introducing taiwan to the world ! Also you two are very pretty and hondsome❤❤❤
To clarify, ROC went to Taiwan post WW2. Prior to that, parts of Taiwan had been ruled by the Spanish, Dutch, Ching empire (China) and Japanese. So In a way, you could say that there are a couple of different national identities exist for the people of Taiwan today: ROC, Taiwan and ROC Taiwan. This identity crisis is due to the fact that 1.Taiwan is a young democratic country and 2. People in Taiwan only started to form some sort of collective identity as Taiwanese under the Japanese rule, which is pretty recent. Hope this makes sense.
Ironically, Dr. SYS did not treat Taiwan as part of ROC before he died. Dr SYS did visit Taiwan a few times to find supports from Japanese and Taiwanese for his revolution. The memorial hall was built when Taiwan was still under KMT’s dictatorship.
Thank you for clarifying some of that history! It is definitely important to learn about and touch upon the historical and cultural differences - we didn’t really consider the different national identities within the country. Thank you for sharing this! ❤️
It is an upscale area. It’s many shops are like those of Paris or L.A.’s Rodeo Drive. While the 101 is great, the several other exhibition halls adjacent to the 101 often have great exhibits like Art Taipei. The Hyatt is nearby too and it is spectacular. The restaurants in the Hyatt are great.
Hello, sorry for our delayed response! We have been away/offline visiting family! It was definitely a wonderful neighborhood! We dud not know about Art Taipei! Next time we will have to check your recommendations out!
@@IfWeGoTo The gentleman's saying being a Taiwanese, not giving a thumb's up is not right. Google Translate wasn't able to translate the sentence properly. Basically, he's saying as a Taiwanese, a thumbs up is a must. 😊 and I agree~ really enjoyed watching Taiwan through your guys' eyes!
Hi, I really love your content but wonder why it is so underrated. I have an observation - when I searched- If We Go To (with space), your channel doesn't show up. It would be great if you could change your channel's name to entertain a wider audience 😀
Hi Rohan, Thank you sooo much for pointing this out - this is actually something we’ve really considered doing for this exact reason. We’ve kept it so far because after talking to so many people around the world we learned that the name translates well across many languages. But if it’s a continued problem for search we will definitely reconsider a change! Just need to come up with a new name we love!
Im not sure if you remember but I commented on the suggestions that you guys asked for. I suggested for the modern shopping centers and thanks for going there and showing everyone how cool it truly is!
Lovely couple:I wish you guys safe journeys in Taipei, Taiwan this weekdays in East Asia for more new videos to be releases in May of 2023❤❤❤I wish you guys good LUCK always in peace 2023❤❤❤
@@IfWeGoTo I’ve been to Tw many times (as I have family living in the south) but haven’t been to the temple nor night market shown here so thanks for the tip 😊🙏🏻 PS. In Taiwan you can choose the Chinese Traditional characters in Google Translate as opposed to the Simplified ones which are used in the mainland. It would make it easier for the locals to read.
Oh wow, I hope you get the chance to visit next time you are there. It is really great! That's so cool that you have family there! Thank you for the tip!! Sometimes we choose the wrong one, we will be more carful!! :D
I used to hike elephant mountain when I was little because my home was 15 minutes walking distance away, I believe .. I actually had a red eared slider turtle released in the pond of elephant mountain's temple, a few decades ago by my dad. That turtle was my childhood pet and the link of my childhood to taiwan. I suppose one day when I retire from the states, that I would move back to my old home. Should the pond still be there, I will pay my old friend a visit. 😊
Oh that’s very cool you got to love so close by!! Thanks for sharing your story about your turtle, that sounds so sweet! I hope the pond is still there so you can visit your old friend! I also hope the USA has treated you well! :) Thanks for watching!!
In addition to Taipei, there are more delicious and impressive things you can experience in other cities , hope u guys enjoy the kind and beauty of Taiwan✨
Thank you so much! That is awesome that you are headed there, you will have a great time - no doubt! Taiwan is awesome!! I see you also make travel vlogs! I love meeting fellow travel video creators. I will add you! If you ever want to chat or link up if we cross paths let me know! :D
You've done an excellent job, not only in choosing the locations and activities but also in doing a lot of research to understand the historical knowledge and cultural significance. It's evident that you didn't just casually visit, but truly immersed yourselves in the experience.
Sorry for our delayed reply! I didn't see your comment until just now! Thank you very much, we're very happy that you have enjoyed it!! We definitely tried to cover Taiwan the absolute best we could!
Great video but this 1:51 really stumped me😅 1000 meters per second would mean a speed of 3600 km/h, so the speed of some fighter jets. Pretty sure it's 1000m per minute so 60 km/h which is still pretty quick for an elevator
We’re a bit behind on videos but YES!!! Sweet potato balls were my favorite night market snack!!! I miss them so much already. 😋 Do you have any favorite markets/stalls for them??
@@IfWeGoTo the best one i got so far is from the Ning-Xia night market, I don’t remember the store name, but it has a huge wok thing next to it, make sure to buy them best when it’s freshly made, I love it with dried plum powder ❤️
Thanks you guys for this new remarkable video today’s from Taipei, Taiwan to shows these remarkable places or Landmarks in May of 2023❤❤❤Remarkable video to watch in East Asia 2023❤❤❤
If you have the opportunity to go to Lukang, I will recommend you to go to "Lukang Longshan Temple", which I think is the most beautiful temple in Taiwan.
Your video is amazing. Songshan Fengtian Temple is amazingly beautiful, which I skipped on my travel to the city last Feb. Taipei has many interesting places to visit. I also uploaded some travel videos on my channel.
Thank you very much for your kind comment! So happy to hear you enjoyed it! The temple is absolutely gorgeous! Next time you will have to check it out as well! :D I'll definitely check out some of your videos too! I love meeting other travel video makers!!
0:19 Look at Brandi and Randi smile! They look like they just ate a block of cheddar! I can't believe they are forcing you folks to mask the pieholes. Sad.
Hahaha thank you! I think they did have a mandate still going at the time, but honestly the masks really don't bother us. We continue to wear them by choice if the majority of people in a space were. If it makes people more comfortable, we don't mind. Masks were a thing in Asia long before covid even started!
thank you guys for introducing the Songshan Fangtian Temple and if not for your vlog, i dont even know that such an intricately beautiful temple ever exist 😍🫶🏻 going to taipei in dec and definitely will visit this amazing temple
Alan (I hope I heard her right) must love the pineapple bun, or he wouldn’t have to lick it off from the wrapping paper to finish off the Pineapple bun.
4:45 actually…this is not traditional taiwanese food, it’s Yunnan food (or Dian food, as the restaurant’s name suggests) Yunnan is a region (province) in China. The foods are actually quite different 😅
Ohhhh we didn’t know!! 😅 there were definitely similarities, but that’s coming from foreigners who don’t know the cuisine well - thanks for telling us!! 😃
Hey you two, I have seen now tons of other vlogs about Taiwan, and I must say yours are just the best. I got so inspired by you guys. Really helpful for my trip in October to Taiwan! Great job, Thanks. Marcus , Hamburg
Hi Marcus, thank you so much for watching them and taking the time to comment! I'm so happy to hear that you have found them helpful - this is exactly what we'd hoped for!! If you ever need any more tips on Taiwan, don't hesitate to reach out! :)
Wow. As high of a view as Freedom Tower in NY! I don't mind seeing Taipei 101 gives a "hometown discount" for locals. The Hancock Tower in Chicago feels a lot like that. Not as fast at Freedom Tower. What a spooky cool feel to the view with those clouds! LA and SF skyscrapers should use that big ball, too. Wow. 12 years and the baseball stadium's not done? We'll have to get there someday for a game. Cute elephant art! Nice. From the overhead, it DEFINITELY looks like an elephant-shaped hill. Nice surprise temple! And not-surprise temple! And love the story of Songshan's rebuilding. Those mushrooms look outstanding. BBQ'd chili shrooms! Nice. Pineapple buns! Had them here in Philly's awesome Chinatown. Probably nowhere near as good as yours with the disgustingly awesome butter. That ice cream roll! Hmmmm....that is the Chicago "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" of desserts. The ice cream & brittle is like the Peter Cetera-sung ballad, with the cilantro becoming the crazy up-tempo horn section blast. I love the song. Not sure about the dessert.
Ahh glad you guys enjoyed it! I did not know you could get them in the US - but we're happy you guys could experience that delicious-ness too! We're going to give the song a listen right now!! hahaha
We appreciate you pointing it out, we did get it right in later videos as we learned. But so you know what goes into it - these videos are a TON of work to make and require so much learning as-is. We’re continually learning as we go, but we’re going to make mistakes. Pronunciations in foreign languages are especially hard because there aren’t always good resources available. And while comments like yours help us learn, the tone could’ve been nicer.
The ice cream roll thing comes from a very traditional Taiwanese food called lumpia. It normally has peanut powder, a lot of veggies, maybe some meat and tofu, served cold. The ice cream with cilantro is pretty new, probably late than 10 years. To be honest, I hate it.... just like you, it does not make any sense.... not sure why it all the sudden everywhere in Taiwan.
many people wore them in large crowds, indoors, and some private establishments required them! I think when we visited (March-may) they were still required on the trains, but I’m not sure about now. Hope that helps!
Hi Bobby!! We unfortunately have had a family emergency and had a lot of plans changeso we fell a bit behind on RU-vid! I’ve left all of your comments for Alan to read! He hasn’t checked them in a while, sorry about that! Hahaha. I’ll remind him again in the morning! (We’re currently in the US!)
Great video! As immigrants from mainland China to US, we are bringing the kids to Taiwan this summer to feel real Chinese culture. Your video is inspiring and we will check the spots you guys visited and I’m sure the kids are gonna love it! Keep up the great work! Thanks
Thank you so much, I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed it and found it helpful! ❤️ Happy travels and hope you and your family have a great trip, Taiwan is so much fun!!
Thank you!!! We’ve been able to see a lot of the country!! We have a few more videos from Taipei to share, but we also have some from Hualien/Taroko, Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Lambai island coming in the future!!
Ohh thank you so much for letting us know this is a problem. I’ll definitely look into what happened with the audio balancing - sometimes it can be hard to determine, or even play differently on different devices. I’ll definitely play around more before the next one though. 🙏
@IfWeGoTo hi, thanks! I work in film music, so maybe I'm more sensitive to this, but your content is great. Music isn't that important, so there is no need to boost so much between dialogue. Less is more especially you are doing a vlog style and documentary.
@@samsungs6lite95 We are definitely amateurs when it comes to film/video-making and we have been letting our editing program (premiere pro) automatically set the music vs dialogue volumes. So we really appreciate you reaching out to let us know that the balance is off. We'll definitely research some ways to do it better!! :D As a professional in the field, do you have any recommendations for maybe a youtube video or website on the subject? Thank you again! :D
@IfWeGoTo Hi there, I don't know any youtube channel teaching the mixing. I work more on the music side of the film and I learned everything at the film studio. If you want some advice, I can give you my IG through DM. Keep up the good work!
@IfWeGoTo it's usually a run or walk accessible to public transport either around Taipei or beyond, we did a recent one in Houtong the Cat Village. You get to see the most beautiful places you would never see otherwise. Many of the places like Zhuzihu, Yangminshan, Tamsui, etc.. are all areas we've run in. Was surprised to see so many places I know
For new travelers to Taiwan be prepared for people who are very aggressive in their use of public space... pedestrians have no rights and that includes the bicyclists on the sidewalks of Taipei who are reckless. Expressions like "excuse me" are unknown in Taiwan where people will happily step on your feet or bump into you in their rush to get somewhere before you get there. After awhile it will become extremely annoying.
Hahaha, it was definitely a bit chaotic, but compared to India (where we were a week prior to visiting Taiwan) it was quite organized and peaceful!! hahaha.
