Let me tell you why Taisuke lost... 1. Lamine is a france judge 2. poe one looks for more footwork 3. Storm is biased towards lilou ( When lamine interviewd storm, he said that he wants lilou to win and Lamine said YES!!!!)
The best battle of the night, but as many i feel bad for the outcome, i really thought Taisuke took it... and i dont know, i respect Lamine as a bboy, but, he always voted for the french bboy that was on the floor, and when Mounir and Lilou battled, he voted for Mounir (same crew) so... seemed a bit biased IMO, anyways, great battle, great event
Lilou's style is very esoteric, while Taisuke's utilizes mostly powermoves. This was a very close battle that could have gone either way. It takes someone that is a bboy to see that, and thus, the judges' decision. Lilou just mixed it up more. Taisuke did some top, flare variations, and some freezes. Lilou did some top, power, threads, freezes. These judges are going to penalize you more if you aren't hitting all the facets of bboying because they want a champion that is complete. If Taisuke mixed it up more, mabey threw some threads in there, or did less flares, he would have got the win. The fact is you have to be a bboy to even know what a thread is, most people just want to see power because they think thats what breaking is, but all these judges are true bboy's like Lamine and El Nino, and they aren't going to vote for bboys that dont mix it up enough, in their eyes it is worse than one crash.
I love Lilou but don't get the decision of the judges... Lilou crashed badly in his first round, his last round was really short.... On the other hand, Taisuke was clean, on beat... I love BC1 but the decisions of the judges are always "unexpectable". Taisuke winner,no doubt!
Bboying isn't all about flashy moves, though it can be a plus. Judges look for a combination of moves, like from footwork toprocking, uprocking, and downrocking then transition using glides, flips, or power moves, tricking, then freeze plus add the disses. Taisuke was flashy but lacked combos and transitions. Lilou was a battler. He does not only use moves. Check out the disses and the transition from one move to another. It's a complete variety.
capster111 Lilou's Musicality was on. He crashed once when he lost his shoe though. I think it went this way because Taisuke was too one-dimentional. Top rock, flare variations, and freezes is all he did, where if you look at Lilou you have top rock, threads, power, freezes. I think If Taisuke did some threads and mixed it up a bit more he would have got the win. These judges are looking for all those thing, and as we can see here, they will penalize you harder for not mixing it up, than they will for one crash, and I get that because they want to see a complete bboy. NO SPECIALIST. That's why guys like Cico will never win a BCONE.
In my opinion taisuke won. He smashed lilou in the first round, second round lilou crashed and lilou's third round was too short and taisuke had solid sets and all on beat. Either way i say it was the best battle of the night.
Do any of you not see it the last round of taisuke when he does the best kill at the end lilou sprays something on him. Look very closely and look is holding something and you could see something spray
she oaken Lilou's powermoves are for transitions only. He barely uses it in his sets. His foundation is air chair threads. You may see him do 1 up to 3 spins of a flare or windmill then he goes into a threaded freeze.
Taisuke win clearly,Taisuke smoke him in the first round, lilou crash in the second round, short third round for lilou. And yes look at lilous other rounds really boring. Im more currious about if taisuke would have win here, no doub the next battle for him will be really HYPE!!!
Why taisuke lost: 1. 1-mind: Taisuke did dope rounds but the vast majority of his rounds were power based and didn't really show his foundation 2. Variety: similar to first point in which a lot of his moves were swipes based or horizontal rotation 3. Lilou showed more character in his dance with the quirky 'threads' whereas taisuke just threw his moves out like a list.
I feel sorry for taisuke. He deserved the next round. I know lilou was doing footwork and everything, but if you are getting smoke, you are getting smoke. Close and really good battle. 1st and 3rd round taisuke.
lotsof people saying how taisuke got robbed in this one. the judges are in fact old school bboys. ofc they seek a well rounded performance by the bboys in competing, it's the world finals after all. they won't be fazed by flashes of cool moves and tricks without the foundation that is the essence of breaking. taisuke's sets are really short and lacks foundation. that was said by skeme richards himself.
I can see how Taisuke's last round was short and maybe not enough, but I thought he killed the beat plenty, had a solid first two rounds and had steez the whole way through...where did he go wrong?
Taisuke was fanominal and although he repeats sets , moves like any other bboy does, he doesnt know how to integrate that thoroughly into a set. Dont get me wrong his first set was nasty but his criticals and most of his set not really on beat or it would be and then not. His second and third set is really a mixture of doing stuff just to get into a move. Likewise, his moves are dope but lacks consistency with musicality or it be very vague eg, a bunch of stuff off beat into a halo and then hits beat with a leg kick at end.. doesnt count as musicality... Lilou on the other hand was thorough from start to end, his moves were relatively clean and he consistently shown musicality and other elements in being diverse... Just my opinion so dont catch feelings. I once thought at first glance that Taisuke got robbed , then watched it again and realizes this was all lilous.
