I am Chinese. China does not want to fight the Taiwanese at the moment because China is currently mainly focusing on upgrading technology. After all, the Taiwanese are of the same race. The main factor for fighting Taiwan is if the Taiwanese declare independence, then China will have to fight the Taiwanese. So China does not want to fight Taiwan at the moment.

Taiwan is pretext for USA involvement. Think. China would literally only take 2-4 days to take the island. Their military is large asf and it’s literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR. US logistics wouldn’t have time to send aid let alone let congress debate first. So sadly it really depends on if China wants it or not

This has more to do with semi-conductors, than reunification. In my opinion. Japan Not China, was the last overlord. If the West decides to throw their hat in. Will be for the same reason.

Taiwan is 100% separate country

I believe this is true. The Chinese appear to be using an old Soviet military doctrine preparation for attack. The first time I noticed this was in reading about the '73 Yom Kippur Arab Israeli War. The Syrians, and probably Egypt, would rush huge amounts of troops, tanks and other equipment to the border with Israel, and then pull back the troops, but leave the equipment in place. They did this several times, with Israel relaxed thinking it was just more exercises. Then, the last time, timed on the Israeli Yom Kippur holiday when most Israeli personnel were away from posts observing that holliday, they suddenly launched the attack. Russia itself did this in the prelude to the War with Ukraine. Putin would order these snap drills approaching the Ukraine border with 100,00 troops and thousands of tanks. And then pull back. Did this several times. As soon as everybody figured nothing was going to come of it, the Russians attacked. Well, China has been doing the same thing with Taiwan, only different because of the Taiwan Strait in the way. I therefore believe that once China is ready, and Taiwan and the West shows the least bit of resignation or loss of interest, China, one of these times instead of just the usual bomber and warship drills flying around Taiwan and back, will turn toward Taiwan, and suddenly attack.

Its strange Russia wants Ukraine, and China wants Taiwan. And Russia and China are so huge countries, why do they want more and more..?? It has to be a stop to this.
