Nine people have died and at least 50 others are missing following a 7.2 magnitude quake in Taiwan. The tremors were felt a little before 8 AM. Tsunami alerts were issued in the Philippines and Japan. Taiwan is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire. Is the island prepared for mega quakes?

When I come back to India from Taipei city, I was faced this massive earthquake… Its very very dangerous… I never faced this in my life in India. God help them Taiwanese peoples in the future. I pray the god for Taiwanese people’s.

May be u dont know south east asia properly 😂😂😂❤ They have one of the best fire fighters and rescue operators plus best in class emergency medics and public awareness systems... One of the best emergency planning and implementation 🥰 . India cant even assume how much forward they are... For emergency rescue training most of the indian forces seeks support from singapore.... Japan... Malasia and philippines

Exactly! The fault literally ran under these buildings and because it’s a thrust fault the buildings had the foundations change in height! These people are the best prepared in the Ring of Fire!

Wow what a thumbnail on one side there is a slanted building pic and on this side the news reporter shows her full smile.... I think she is happy bcos they got a sensational news for another 4 days... I really appreciate the effort of reporter smiling at the disaster 👍👍

Such a deadly quake can happen in India anywhere, any day. The death and destruction will be very very high. Imagine you or your family member trapped and suffocating under rubble. Terrifying...

Prayers! The fault is a thrust fault and ran directly under the buildings! It’s not the construction! The ground literally changed to where 10 ft difference was under the foundation! 😢😢😢😢
