In the time of "CORONAVIRUS WORLD WAR - 3" in 2020 when your own life is at the hands of a invisible pandemic it's cinema and documentaries that breaks all barriers and provides solace and entertainment in the confines of my home. As a lifelong sports enthusiast and a silver jubilee pathological gambler on horse racing decided to understand the sport of pigeon racing.Picked the right documentary and found "Taiwan Pigeon Racing" " extremely educating to a novice from Mumbai in India where pigeon racing does exist in a few city's. Have visited the port city of Keelung in Taiwan during my employment in the "Mercantile Merchant Navy" but never noticed the unique pigeon lofts during my tourist rounds across the port city . Surprised to know that Taiwan akin to China is the country that now monopolizes "Pigeon Racing" . The fact that US $ 2,800 was paid for a Dutch bird "Peter Pearly" for breeding purposes speaks volumes of the investment and enthusiasm in the sport. This short video beautifully explains the mating and hatching of a pigeon.Surprised that the Royal Family of England is also actively involved in "Pigeon Racing" as i was under the impression they only raced horses. One of my favourite boxer's Mike.Tyson is a pigeon fancier and If "PIGEON RACING" existed in Mumbai i would definitely have been a active player in this bird sport. Ahoy !
This video I last watched almost 4 or 5 years ago,and now I watching 2020, After a lot of searching , actually I love this video & also inspired me when I watching the video, I'm a pigeon lover from Bangladdsh

@faranick1 I agree, with the massive competion, Belgian and Dutch pigeons are tops, btw I had desmet mathys pigeons 20 years ago, triple 8 line, georgeous cock male
@aljearu for what ever reason they do fly low but as a consequence they get swalled up by the waves, brutal type of racing, very difficult for the pigeons, also that is why my friend will no longer race his pigeons in taiwan
DON'T MISS... TAIWAN TO THE WORLD THE PIGEON GAME 18 AUGUST AT 8PM manila time Pigeon racing is not just a sport but a national obsession, where a single race can make you an instant millionaire.
an incredibly cruel sport. most of the so-called "fanciers" don't really give a toss about the birds unless they favor them successfully in the game. ask them do they have a facility where they keep their old & injured.birds. i rescued a "hawked" racer some weeks ago & wouldn't return it to the owner - guess why?? i ask many pigeon guys for help & the reply i got was either wring it or stick in a bucket of water. she is fully recovered but i don't have a clue about pigeons so i guess i'll need to commit myself to a steep leaning curve.
Although it's a well produced documentary, but it's about turning this marvelous creature into a money making object, encouraging others to take them as granted.. you must stop this. I can't believe how many people in here not seeing the real picture.. you wanna race them? Fine, do as you may but you don't need to advertise it. They're are living being just like the rest. Respect the nature and leave the money out of it please
