Originally stuffed with chicken liver pate, “棺材板” (guan-tsai-ban), directly translated as “coffin board”, is a popular Taiwanese snack. Its official translation is “deep fried sandwich”, but it’s actually more like a bread bowl. It’s a thick crispy toast, hollowed out and filled with chicken or seafood cream soup.
