Austen Powers true but all of them serve a different purpose and aren't made too power up characters, with the only exception being the sol emeralds which are there to be used only by blaze

3 and knuckles is canon, that statement about it not being canon doesn't make sense

@@BIastProcX it's mean that sonic 3&K combined into one big game as it was originally intended to be isn't canon and Hypersonic was added as a bonus

Frosty I understand where you’re coming from but you gotta realize that Iizuka wasn’t in control of the franchise back then. Also, the Sol emeralds were different as they came from a different Universe so it wasn’t as confusing compared to Sonic 3’s way of handling the emeralds.

Tan Potato The Super Emeralds can be made only if you power up the chaos emeralds with the master emerald. There’s nothing confusing about it.

Whitehead also confirmed that the Super Emeralds are not canon, he stated that the "Super Emeralds" that were seen in Mania are just statues of the normal Chaos Emeralds. He said this on his Twitter. Way before Iizuka confirmed that the Super Emeralds are not canon.

Jambastion Mania isn’t canon, so it’s not like it makes much of a difference what they say about it.

That may have been something special during the Genesis Sonic era, but as a present day almost everything about Sonic and his world is inconsistent and made quite complex. In other words, Sega cares very little about Sonic's lore. Sonic's world, the characters around him, and more often himself are constantly flip flopping as well as their identities. As nice that would be to keep Sonic and his history on track, Sega and the team behind Sonic aren't losing any sleep over a bit of emerald lore.

@@GottaFistDemAll Pre 06 lore was pretty consistant but with the implications from mania ( in one of knuckles boss fights you go to hidden palace and find some greyed out cracked stones where the super emeralds would have been ) you could make the head-cannon the emeralds were an one time thing. Though i do think not having the emeralds at all in Forces was an missed oppertunity Super or otherwise. Another Head Canon is just that sonic doesn't need them, Post sonic 3 & Knuckles there hasn't been an boss that could really damage super sonic aside from Solaris and he was still defeated.

RASkid Sambrano Super Sonic is based on Super sayajin during freeza saga,so Hyper Sonic being the evolution of Super Sonic,would make Hyper Sonic a SSJ2. Also if we talking copyright, Sonic being goku,Shadow is vegeta,and Silver is most definatly based on future Trunks(the wikia page mentions as much). so in terms of copy right strikes,Hyper sonic is the least of the dbz-similaritys,just saying.

Shaquille Shaquille Shaquille ok first off calm down I’m not saying that sonic characters are the exact same as dbz characters popular to contrary belief I don’t believe that I’m saying that they were inspired by someone thing from dbz not a rip-off more an homage. also for trunks whole thing...firstly he’s not 14.. don’t know where you got that from also his planet wasn’t destroyed as he was born on earth secondly they don’t have to go through the exact same thing for silver to be inspired by trunks character no a demon didn’t destroy trunks timeline the Androids did and they share the same role when sega themselves put essentially trunks from dbz in his bio it’s pretty obvious he was inspired by him and I know you said a lot of other things but the main deal is you want something from the Yuji Naka right? well it’s not based on the conversation here but there was an interview where he admitted that the blue spheres are inspired from king kai’s planet from dbz which he admits he’s a big fan of shmuplations.com/sonic/ it has a lot of interviews so you’ll have to scroll a bit it’s when there talking about mega drive stories So yes he has in fact admitted that he’s taken inspiration from dbz which again is obvious if pay attention also I get of your points but your acting like because their inspired that takes away from the series like yeah goku and Superman are pretty similar especially with goku’s new backstory but that doesn’t mean their the exact same People saying super sonic was inspired by the super saiyan doesn’t mean it’s a ripoff just inspired same with the dragon ball and the chaos emeralds same with vegeta and shadow and same with trunks and silver

Hyper sonic was probably supposed too be in sonic mania,I bet they planned for him to be there and izuka said no The reason I say this is because I've also heard he is the reason why we didn't get completely new zones in the game

@@NewSuperChris Exactly what I think, I was really excited for Sonic Forces and I loved a lot of stuff about the game such as the soundtrack, the character customization, gameplay, and even Infinite was great! The game just failed to deliver a good apocalyptic atmosphere like Sonic 06 did. Overall it was just an okay game, quite forgettable with nothing really to make it stand out. I have high hopes for the next Sonic title though, Sonic's future now looks brighter after the movie.

I agree. I also think Hyper Sonic should take a huge toll on the Blue Blur's health, even potentially causing death if he uses it for too long.

The Chaos Emeralds, the Time Stones, the Master Emerald, the Super Emeralds, the Sol Emeralds, the Chaos Crystals? (Although those were from Sonic Boom, so I don’t think those are canon either) but is that not a lot of Emeralds?

@@lowqualityvideos8091 not at all really, especially when the chaos and master Emeralds are a set and the chaos and super emeralds are the same thing. Different names same set of crystals. So all you really have are the chaos emerlds, master emerald, time stones, sol emeralds, and the phantom Ruby. That's not a lot of crystals at all.

Andres Marrero exactly! But I don’t understand why sets of similar items can’t exist or coexist? The reasoning for having “too much” of anything falls flat all the time, it’s just a poor excuse to not wanting to be organized. They can set restrictions or tbh just use all of them when the circumstances are right or redesign everything BUT the emeralds...they have so many options to actually make everything relevant without sacrificing any forms, emeralds, characters etc. someone needs to step up and make a change for once because the ones in charge right now are the reason why sonic hasn’t been doing great in recent years (besides sonic mania ofc).

Yes, I remember an unused voice clip of a surprised Eggman shouting that the wisps were even stronger than the chaos emeralds if I recall correctly. It really would be something to see that form return!

@@emerylsg i think that individually the wisps are alot weaker than the emeralds but there are only 7 emeralds and there's an entire species of wisps so eggman's planet harvesting scheme would ultimately result in alot more power

emerylsg thankfully we don’t have to accept it because it’s not canon! :) Although, Iizuka also said that Generations isn’t canon even though it shows how Eggman discovered the time eater after Colors. I don’t think anyone knows what they’re doing.

carlos ortega When the Sol emeralds were made, he wasn’t in control of the franchise. The Sol emeralds also come from another dimension so it isn’t as confusing compared to Sonic 3. The Seven World Rings were a one time thing and you know it, they had nothing to do with the Chaos emeralds either besides being a substitute to fit the narrative And I’ll have you know that Iizuka is the same guy that made the Adventure Games what they were. If it weren’t for him, there wouldn’t even BE a Sonic Adventure. He also came up with Colors, Generations, and directed Mania and Team Sonic Racing as well, and even worked hard in making Sonic Heroes what it was (which had a great level design but slippery controls) you can’t hold him accountable for the mistakes the franchise has made, especially when he had nothing to do with the major mistakes. So before you judge Iizuka, I suggest that you think about what he’s done for Sonic and the franchise because he genuinely cares. And no, he wasn’t responsible for Sonic Forces, he only worked on the concepts of the game

Sonic Heroes is basically Sonic Adventure 3 since it has almost everything in it that happened in Sonic Adventure 2 so I doubt they ever will since we pretty much have Sonic Adventure 3

The greatest irony is that Takashi Iizuka retconned the super forms to be possible only for male hedgehogs, aka the most sayian-looking characters of the series (hell, SEGA even confirmed Silver was inspired from Trunks), so the whole "trying to not be called a rip-off of Dragon Ball" argument falls flat. Also, personally, I think removing a form that does not seem to be based on Dragonball makes it look more like they are trying to copy it.

@@NewSuperChris look at the chaos emeralds above the pillars in the flashbacks. They look pretty big dont they? In fact if you play as knuckles and climb up to them, theyre bigger than he is! This, in my opinion, means they are super emeralds.

Weren't they also a different shape? I remember my old headcanon was that they were raw gems beforehand and became "cut" after absorbed by Chaos the first time. But I also like the idea that they were the Super Emeralds.

Light, give me POWER!!! Well if you noticed Sonic 3 and Knuckles gives instances of revealing that there was another race a race of Hedgehogs. If you look in Hydrocity you can see sculptures of Hedgehogs like Sonic. The Hidden palace is not the same framework that Echidnas were known for building. In Sonic adventure we see mor Aztec like building while in Sonic 3 and Knuckles we see a more Greek/Roman style architecture. Notice the shrines from S3&K and SA are different. This reveals that maybe the echidnas were not the original owners of the emeralds. I don’t mean to bother but I’ll write more if you’re interested in this theory

Exactly, the Super Emeralds are just the Chaos Emeralds powered up. The idea that there are "too many emeralds" so they have to remove the Super Emeralds to avoid confusion is just a cheap excuse. I dare say having 3 different Sonics (Boom, Classic and Modern. 4 if you also count that Classic-Mania Sonic is apparently a parallel world and not just younger Sonic according to Forces. 5 if you also want to throw Movie Sonic in the ring, but I was just considering the games) is a hell of a lot more confusing than another set or a powered up set of mystical gemstones.
