It's kind of funnier when they don't have the visual effect, people just KEELING OVER mid-sentence or even without speaking and there's just subtle confusion about what happened. As in "everyone who wants to hurt me, dies". And they will, instantly. Without fanfare or reason or show. Just dead.
Wow, now we have an mc, who's isn't just killing lifeforms or concepts. He's even able to kill any kind of tension and drama. Weirdly enough my boredom seems immune to that skill.
@@jokerdaffa2479 Im just tired of those type of anime where mc give mercy on the enemy that kill million of people also the mc where they unleash power but get beaten after a 1 ep later
People always forgetting this anime is meant as parody that mocks the trope of serious events by having it wiped in simple, plain way. It's whole schtick is about having elaborate and some important looking occurrence/character, some serious set up, only to be foiled that easily like it's nothing. The only serious thing in this anime is his relationship with the people dearest to him and the lesson of being humble and setting boundaries/rules. But as always, the fucking power scaler and vs battle maniacs have to ruin the comedy by taking the anime seriously, thus thinking it's edgy, when it's they themselves that's being edgy by not accepting it as simple comedy. Just like one punch man where its whole point is "saitama always beat them" regardless how silly it is, and the actual focus about the show is the life lesson and being an adult about it. Which obviously goes above the viewers head as they never grew up
I'm glad they made an anime of this, and I'm even more glad that they kept it lighthearted, because this was always supposed to be a parody of the Isekai genre. The one thing that bothers me, though, is that they made this into way more of an active ability in the show. In the manga, it's just something he does. Sometimes he does it by accident if he's not paying attention. He has to reign himself back to not just automatically kill people directing killing intent at him. This makes it look like a spell: it's his natural state.
Hello, novel reader here. Can mostly confirm, but not quite In the novels its basically explained as if he wills someone to die, they do. Yes he doesn't have to say "Die" or anything, and in the novel he often just kills someone without saying anything, followed basically by "Well, that was annoying, lets continue". In the novel he doesn't have to specifically need to repress it/be careful most of the time, and he has a codex of "As long as they don't intend to kill me, i'll leave them be." He can and does actiate it on reflex though if killing intent is directed at him, which makes his enemy just drop to the floor wirh seemingly no cause.

The incidental coincidence is that Yogiri Takatou's VA (Koki Uchiyama) also voiced Tomura Shigaraki from My Hero Academia. Both characters are destructive monsters.

I mean if the author wanted yes it can, its just you know for effect, but there is nothing actually stoping the writer of this story from bringing any character back other than he wanting to write "the most broken character in fiction" or something like that
@@angeltier987 genuinly i can believe that the writer of this story would write something like that and try to pass it as an actual feat, this story nearly reaches lionel suggs level of ridiculous bullshit to build a strong character for vs battles (nearly)
They gotta get Mobile Task Force White Rabbits and Mobile Task Force Last Hope out there to get this guy back in containment. Maybe even get the Mole Rats to travel through dimensions to get in the other world.
Actually he's happy in containment. What really pisses him off is how the Sage woman who summoned him and his class for her "game" outright refuses to send him home because the woman is not powerful enough (despite being casual in pulling out people from another dimension) At that point even the innocent assistant of the Sage woman is not spared and Yogiri didn't kill no he cripples by killing body parts.
All things have a beginning and an end. The end of all existence implies the disappearance of matter and even souls, that is the power of Yogiri the avatar of the end of all things.
I don't know... Saitama is still human at heart. His motivations are human ones. In fact he's probably more human than most of the superheroes he works alongside. Yogiri isn't human. He just has some human-like qualities. And the further you get into the story, it feels like the more you begin to realize just how _uncanny valley_ his mind is.
@@leyruahe's an avatar of the concept of the 'end'. But Yogiri is just that, an avatar. So 'Yogiri' does indeed have emotions. The true aspect of 'end' doesn't. Kind of like the giant fish that gains sentience by eating realities which I'm not sure if they appeared in the anime or not.
@@LuminousOriens he has emotions, but that's what I meant by uncanny valley. He falls somewhere close to human, but his perspective on things is just different enough to be eerie.
@@gjahmato8704 You seem ill informed on Marvel and Instant Death. Death does not want all life to end, cause then there'd be no one to die. Secondly, she revives him cause she just doesn't like him + needs a herald like Galactus does. Thirdly, the person Yogiri kills ceases to exist on a conceptual level. There is no death, he'd skip straight to Oblivion. Lastly, Yogiri's power cannot be reversed. There is no resurrection or regeneration or immortality or anything.
He's definitely a gary stu in terms of how little everything affects him bcs he's so overpowered and elaborate his background is but what i like about his character is that his power is kept simple and has clear boundary. It's just that he renders everything useless, that's it. He doesn't suddenly become able to do everything by gaining absurd skills out of nowhere. He still can't cook, he still has to carry everything by hand, he still has to walk, he still has to do everything manually. He doesn't just suddenly stumble over everything that'll convenience him like it's breathing. @@gunbuckybucketman4578Absolute death. Regardless of what you do or attempt to do, whether that be regeneration or resurrection or even not having the concept of death in your being, if he says you or whatever die, it dies. For example, he kills someone’s fingers. They proceed to remove and regenerate that hand or set of fingers (can’t remember atm) but they still cannot function. Bigger spoilers if you’re ever interested, but he even kills a multiversal being (A World Eater) that’s outside the concept of time, despite it being 10 seconds later. The being couldn’t see their future past that 10 seconds, despite having the ability to reverse time or to remove itself from that mode of existence. In ten seconds, it keels over.
@@Sunny-uz8cw He's just another rule bending being that writer place on top of his novel to be honest, say the concept of end could be surpass if the writer says so.
@@gunbuckybucketman4578 It’s not technically even rule bending, it’s the concept of The End personified and controlled. Character’s broken because he’s _literally_ the End of All Things in a humanoid shell. Everything dies in one way or the other, the MC just dictates when and it’s instantaneous (if it’s deemed that way, he can control the when but he does it rarely.) Also, writers are able to make their own rules, that’s just what happens when they want to write their story? 🤷♂️ Idk, not trying to be rude to ya, but it seems rather redundant to be bothered by that.
I remember this where the whole classroom was on a fieldtrip or smth then got transported rip driver then some girl gave them power not affected are mc and the girl where her sister is a ghost and protected her from the one that gave powers and the mc was just mostly tired or always napping without a care for the worl lol
This is so dull! Where's the fun of the opponent realizing they're outmatched? That they never had a chance at all? They never have time to regret their choices.
I don’t really think the fight is the main focus of this anime. It feels more like a what if multiple troupe get smash into each other to create a world of varying overpowerness. I mean, in the manga there are many other troupes being used like a literal war between people chosen by angels to determine the fate of the world whether to destroy or save and a world devourer that like to pretend to be a living being in that world to sow chaos, essentially playing with their food.
If i have to guess the author just wanted to create "the most powerful character in all of fiction" or whatever, go read the wiki its even states that not even plot can allow you to survive his instant death effect so yeah, its just the author wanting to create an invincible protagonist So yeah no substance or challenge or anything, just an op protagonist because the author said so
I wonder if Mr. Death's targets souls die or are more accurately deleted. Because each time he uses his ability there's no way to counter or defend against it.
"I decide what death is" Pay attention to that line when he said it back at episode 4 (I think), that line has a DEEPER MEANING than you think. Good luck with trying to use resurrection magic on those that Takatou has killed...
I read the manga years ago (just right about where the anime is in the tower fight at the end) He is the concept of the end of everything, given human form. The concept of death is what he decides, but the defacto true version for him is "removing that thing/concept's existence" (which you could say is true death) Even gods fear him nor never try to harm him, since even though they are immortal... they could remove their existence. That's why the goddess never attacked him even when she go berserk after the "true death" of the evil god/her lover. (But it didn't matter anyway, since he used "true death" on her anyway)
I think this quote fits him very aptly. "You wanna know who he is? Try this: delve down into the deepest bowels of your soul. Try to imagine the ultimate fucking nightmare. And that won't come close to this son of a bitch when he gets pissed."
The way i would describe it is this, he is the representation of the author bias in the story he can kill everything even omnipotent gods because the author of this story wanted his protagonist to be the strongest ever in all of fiction or something like that, all explanations about him being "the end of everything" or whatever are just set dressing Ultimately its never actually explained what the entity that is supposedly behind everything is and the description of his powers sounds like the author went to the super power wikia with the purpose to create the most broken character ever I mean go to his wiki page, it has terms such as "the entity exists above all multiverses" or "even plot is less than a joke" and other usual powerscaling shit He can kill everything because the writer said so, its not more complex than that
Anyone remember what happened to that one isekaied asshole who killed Shion in Tensura Season 2? Same thing happens to everyone Takatou kills, only without the possession part.
I wonder how scp-682 would do against yogiri there has been times where 682 died and revived again and became immune to that ability even copying and using it himself and in a fight he was supposed to lose written in the plot by writers he changed the script and won.
In the end I feel sorry for the girls... I mean, ok, the wanted ones attacked them. But they were still so young and if they had known his ability, or rather he had told them, they would have certainly let him pass. Although they took part in a death game in this tower, he himself had other reasons why he went to this tower. I found this scene a bit too cold-hearted. He could have killed just one if they hadn't believed him. That he could kill anyone.
He may be the most op character in all of anime and possibly all of fiction. I’m not exaggerating. Just look up his abilities and just how hax he is. Doesn’t matter what abilities you have or beyond the concept of death you are, he will END you regardless. It’s absolute. No doubt this guy can solo even the entire Cthulhu mythos, including Azathoth. No flaws (besides being boring), no shortcomings, unflappable, he’s overpowered done wrong.
@@user-fq7qj7wp1v who wins? A guy with op hax? Or a guy whos hax is disabling any and all supernatural hax Don’t matter cause at the end if the day yogiri will be in awe that a normal dude negated his ability, and then they box like men, which touma should comfortably clobber
The fact his power is to instantly kill things is very ironic, as most of the clips I’ve seen about this anime make the series seem so brain dead that it’d would bore you to death by how pointless it is.
If his power represents "the end" and he brings any and all things to their end, then a power that represents "the beginning" and brings all things back to the beginning, would be its natural opposite counterpart, im hoping that he will encounter someone like that in this show, but if not, then its a show with zero stakes and a waste of common fantasy tropes. No tension, no excitement. Please tell me if he faces any challenges whatsoever or eventually considers not mercilessly and coldly killing, murdering everything he comes across that gets in his way and at least considers sparing those that are morally grey bordering on good. If not, then i have no desire to watch this show.
Nah this is not that kind of show, its just a case of "the strongest protagonist ever" by the author. He is so strong not even the plot can kill him, this is canon btw.
