Great video! I just bleached mine. I used 20 developer for bleaching and 20 for toning..no burning and got the color I was hoping for.

AdornedDc literally NO ONE!! I was like am I doing something wrong?! But I’ve dyed it multiple times since and it didn’t burn half as bad! I used a developer for sensitive scalp that I found at Sally’s!

nayecole I color every 3 weeks, my hair grows very fast, so I will have alot "root". I think because I treat my hair with strengthening and moisturizing oils my hair looks, thick, curly and luscious.

Agreed, there are many more gentle products that can be used to bleach hair if you want to lighten. Ion's developers are for sensitive scalps and they are THEE best. Bleach with 30 developer. Tone and/or color with 20 developer. I choose to dye my hair versus tone it so then I NEVER have to bleach twice. I'm not down for that either. It's more time-consuming and more damaging to the hair overall to bleach twice and bleaching twice is truly what makes it exhausting. I only use Clairol's BW bleach so that I NEVER experience burning. The bleach that you choose is EVERYTHING! Seriously my scalp would melt with the Quick Blue and other bleaches that I see a lot of women using. I bleach once. I color once. I've cut my hair, bleached it, dyed it, groomed, showered and am ready for bed in about 2.5 hours and that's once every three weeks or once a month. It's the most time that I spend on my hair. Finally, I'd say consider other shades of blonde. It trips me out how EVERYBODY, their mother, grandmother, and great grandmother chooses to use the lightest blonde on the planet like it complements EVERY skin tone. Well T18 is super light and SO freakin' harsh. That's why a lot of women have to bleach twice. I use a light, golden blonde because I prefer a color that actually warms up my natural skin tone and to eliminate the need to ever bleach twice. You have all types of shades of blondes so I don't get it *shrugs shoulders*.

@@nayecole yes my chile, the color, the style, the uniqueness, the individualism - I see ALL of that in this look! I'm also perhaps just a tad bit biased because I always wish my hair was more natty versus waves. My hair is naturally like 360 waves and I can't achieve a natty look BUT at the end of the day, it looks like being blonde and natural was LESS work for you overall than being black and relaxed and that's what's most important. You said in your response that maintaining your current style was a struggle. So then, eliminate the unnecessary struggle because the path you've chosen is already chock FULL of more struggles than most others will ever face and let me tell you, over time, it only gets harder because you'll be doing for a longer amount of time (I's tired). But today, I am a full-time creative who writes and paints abstract works full time as well as keeps life balanced in regards to spending adequate time with God on a DAILY (if you don't do this, you can hang it up, it won't work without it being done God's way and learned that the hard way so learn on MY DIME lol), working out, eating healthy and just maintaining an overall balanced life. I could NOT do this and make a great living as a full-time creative if I had to shampoo and re-style my hair on a daily. Is it working for you sis or do you need to compromise on that and/or other areas of your life? I can guarantee that compromise will be necessary in order to succeed at this because you have to be able to maintain it for the long hau . None of us can have it all like the world says. And Jesus never said that we could either BUT he DID say that we could have an abundant life THROUGH him. So, here's the hard part and getting down to the nitty gritty, IF you have to sacrifice your current hairstyle in order to spend some serious time in God's presence and/or to focus on your path to achieve your goals, then sacrifice it. To this DAY, I can not succeed as a full-time creative that makes a good living (no more roommates needed - been there and did that too) work out and then wash and re-set my hair on a daily basis. At night, I dampen it, moisturize usually with Castor oil, add some Kinky Curly or Eco Styler, tie it down for bed and it's good to go by morning. I take off the scarf and move on. I also choose to work out in the evenings so that I'm refreshing my hair right after a good workout and am able to sleep while it dries. You have to assess EVERYTHING for what you're trying to do or you'll burn out.
