The fact that a lot of Retro/Low-Poly-like games are succeeding lately and being appreciated by everyone bc of how well made they are, just shows how much of an amazing era the Nintendo 64 was
Tbh I gotta say that new blood is carrying this, like they have amid evil, Ultrakill, faith the unholy trinity, really goes to show how good they are at making games.
My girlfriend was JUST telling me about this game, and yes the first thing she was talking about was how incredibly cool the schmovement tech in the game is. The second thing was in fact the caked up bunny girl but I know her and that was to be expected.
It's always nice to find out about a fun indie game, especially considering the absolutely abysmal state of AAA games these days (if it ain't microtransactions, it's buying an unfinished product). As a fan of metroidvanias, this is def something I'll check out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thank you for the summary! Ive followed the development of the game in the developer's discord server, but I was never too interested in it until this video, ill definitely try it out sometime!
You should really talk about rollerdrome. It’s a third person shooter that also has immensely satisfying schmoovement and makes you feel like a total badass while playing. I haven’t seen anybody really talk about it that much so I think it’s be a good fit for TABOO
This game gives off Nintendo 64 vibes in the best way possible, absolutely love that. And with the TABOO style of formatting you went for, im all in for it! :D
This game looks like a lot of fun!! I'll have to give it a look Turns out the dev was talking about adding a (mini?)map to the game in an update, so it seems one of the few gripes shared by you and a few seems to getting adjusted later down the road
Im glad you covered this game atsuover, it truly is just that incredible! I was especially blown away since i wasn't really big on metroidvanias before this but the movement in this game got me hooked even if i wasn't super advanced in it. Like dude, the moment i got that groundpound move i spammed the shit out of that and the cancel. Definetly worth the price and time!
this game looks really good! ive been waiting for a new good indie game like this, last couple i tried have all been amazing fps games, but im glad to see more 3d metroidvanias are getting good indie love
learned about this game through Hutts (who usually plays games like Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon) and decided I need this game for myself. I beat it tonight, started a new file, got lost looking for my high jump, but once I found it, I collected my Sun Greaves, Slide Jump, Cling Gem, and a few extras all within like maybe an hour? The movement really is top notch, It's sooooo good, and yes, the Empty Bailey is a banger, that much is true (the entire OST goes hard but for whatever reason, Empty Bailey hits hard)
Anne Atsuover it is entirely your fault that I am now down 6 dollars how could you do this to me my emotions are sad and its all because of this amazing banger bop of a game you made me buy almost instantly and that I am enjoying immensely. Thou should feel ashamed. :(
i mastered the sun kick on my first playthrough and got through about 4 sections? i know you are SUPPOSED to get the cling gem for. it felt amazing fucking around and finding out what i could do with enough determination while my friend watched in horror and irritation knowing the cling gem was actually whats needed
I find it funny how the hardest puzzle in the game is in the first room. That timed puzzle felt the hardest because of how much precision you need and if you mess up even a little, which is very hard not to on that one, you need to start over.
This is a baller as heck video Editing is fancy-shmancy, took probably lots of time to do, and I appreciate it! 👌 Jackalope Jumpsalot's Jungle Jim 64 very nice
Watched a friends live playthrough on pseudoregalia, and i agree with your criticism on getting easily lost. The underbelly became the worst contender for this, theres not enough landmarks to justify the insane interconnectedness of the world, which leads to confusion and missing pathways because you only remembered like 5/7 of them. Awesome game overall and i love sybil very much ! We all enjoyed experiencing it
I completely agree that i got lost a lot especially close to the end of the game spent at least 2 hours lost but I had lots of fun and found more time trails I loved this game so much
