Riding the St. Charles streetcar down this historic line is a great opportunity to see different areas of New Orleans, including the majestic mansion lined Garden District and oak tree canopied university area of Uptown. A single ride is $1.25 or you can purchase a day pass for $3 for unlimited rides.

This is a great video I hope is seen by many. Although NO Streetcars aren't "hidden", they're quite a gem that not enough people know about. A place where it's OK to be a tourist, yet, where a tourist can rub noses with the locals. It needs to be Stop One on the itineraries of people coming into town who wish to gain the real NO experience. I encourage Transdev to puff this up, so both the city, and the private company running its transit system can benefit.

Thanks Fleurty girl, you have good energy and very cute. These tips are really helpful but your site is a little too corporate. I wish you had more tips like this.

Is there enough room to haul your luggage to a hotel in one of these? I was thinking of splitting up my stay among different hotels to save money so I'd need to bring my large suitcase on board to get to the next hotel.

While your suitcase might fit on the streetcar, you never know how many passengers will be aboard, so it might become a bit difficult to transport it back and forth.

DJ80s depends on time of day, they can get as packed as any subway car. To save money I get a room a little further out and Uber or public transport to my destinations. My budget only gets me close to downtown in the off season😎

Hi Art! If it's a service animal, it may be able to accompany you on the streetcar. If it's a pet, according the Regional Transit Authority's website, it must be in a carrier that can fit on your lap. See more here under "Service Animals Policy" --> www.norta.com/Getting-Around/Rider-Rules-Policies Hope this helps!

I expected a Southern girl to have an authentic Southern accent. Wonderful clip, though.

Larry, New Orleans accents are a bit different than the rest of the south!

Thanks, my adopted home town is Bossier City, La, where people talk like Terry Bradshaw. I grew up in Beaumont, which has a large Roman Catholic population and a fair number of folks with French-tinged accents-different from up here in my adopted part of Louisiana.

LarryRickenbacker New Orleans accents are different from other accents down south. Probably due to our culture
